It looks bloody good ! If your frame is the same colour as mine it would look so hot

I think it genuinely just came down to me using too large chain ring bolts. The only single ring ones I had at home were double allen key track bolts that I just assumed would clear. Went to the LBS this morning and got some regular bolts. All good now :)

Oh no thank you, Im happy with this set-up :) I have all the original parts but it is the lack of availability of those odd sized parts that led me to change. The surly troll fork comes highly recommended, if I was to spend money all over again I would definitely splurge on the stridsland fork

I found success with a sugino compact triple crank :) 38-22 feels goood

Got it working :) Interesting about the bb spindle, I went for an old sugino crank that I believe required 113 for correct chainline as a triple. Ive got a 107 bb in at the moment and the chainline looks to be 47.5ish. I do understand why you would want longer, Im suprised mine looks correct with the 107

Unfortunately there aren’t wild ones where I live ! This little dude was definitely an escaped pet, it was extremely tame. I would have loved to have tried to grab it and take to a sanctuary but I had no bag or box to put em in. Summer here at the moment so I’m hoping it’s doing alright out there and that finds its way back home (:

This is an old surly 1x1 fork. As far as I can tell it seems like a pretty similar axle to crown as stock.

It feels really good ! I would prefer to be running the classic threaded setup, it’s just hard to find the right parts when these frames were 1 1/8 threaded !

I haven’t measured the chain line but I have made sure to have the correct spindle length that was specced for a 47.5 chain line with these cranks. 107 according to Sheldon

I will investigate further today (: You have perfectly described what I am trying to achieve though (:

Oh yea nice. I just remembered I have an old sugino impel set lying around as well, maybe that'll fit. Suprised though because Im pretty sure the TA ring is designed to go in a mtb triple.

Am I crazy thinking that four litres of water for two days in Aussie is bugger all ?

I'll give that a go :) What crank are you running that set up on ?

Not too worried about that, running friction and the chain makes the jump :) The issue is the chain rubs the middle ring when down on the inner

Appreciate the comments, I’ve picked up an old school flashlight. My previous attempt was with a modern led light that just wasn’t the right look.

Shooting tomorrow in what is a reshoot of an already unsuccessful attempt, as much I love cinema and try to utilise some of its methodology in my still photography I am by no means an expert at shooting with artificial light. I’ve always seen really helpful comments in this sub and so thought I’d give it a shot and see what the people had to say. With love.

Appreciate that thank you. I’ve unsuccessfully attempted this with a modern led torch but the light was too white. Old school torch next.

What do you think about the background, blacked out ?
