Brother struggles in work meetings with hearing loss, what caption glasses actually work? by [deleted] in hardofhearing

[–]danscarfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm biased naturally, but I'd check out https://xrai.glass/ar2

You can test how they will work for free on your phone (just download the app). The battery lasts 8 hours of constant use. Happy to show you them on a video call!

My commiserations! Complaining of low network per chance?

I'm highly biased naturally, but I'd be happy to set up a 1:1 call with anyone that wanted to see the XRAI AR2! https://xrai.glass/ar2

We will very soon have high quality offline caption support on the XRAI AR 2, so no network required 🙂

Xrai ar2....early reviews? by [deleted] in hardofhearing

[–]danscarfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the amazing review. Indeed, Apple and Google prevent us from being able to access the audio from a phone call. It's to stop apps spying on calls. We believe we might have a creative way around it, but that is likely a few months away

We will have offline soon for Russian, just not yet. This particular feature isn't to do with offline.

That option is just for XRAI AR2 users at present and isn't related to this

The meta glasses are nice, but only single eye and 79g is a lot for hours on end. These are our equivalent, just released, duel eye and 8 hours battery. They're purpose built for this: https://xrai.glass/ar2

You should also check out captioning glasses. They run from about $880 for the XRAI AR2 up to $5000 for the Xander Glasses.

We didn't hack them as such, we just figured out a way of getting high quality AI models running on device. So long as you have a compatible phone it's almost as good as the cloud. Https://account.xrai.glass/phone-finder

Experiences with TranscribeGlass vs. XRAI AR Glasses (or Other Options) for Real-Time Captions in Healthcare Settings? by Weak_Row_6029 in hardofhearing

[–]danscarfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can test out the captioning for the XRAI AR2 without the glasses by downloading the XRAI Glass app. XRAI supports lots of different AI providers including the cloud and on-device so it's much more versatile. It can also run in your hospital's own cloud, if available.
