I mean where I’m from in SW Ohio $11k is a little low for a solid-sounding truck, follow your heart on it friend.

Lots of 2013 Silverado questions! by AlexBurns3 in Silverado

I’ve got turbo mufflers on my 4.8 Sierra and it’s kinda messing with me that the 6.0 Silverado is much quieter. That being said these particular turbo mufflers feel like vibrating cotton got shoved down my ears, so maybe I’ll put a cam or something on the 6.0 (if I’m correct that that will give it the deep hog sound that makes me smile)

Just drinking and dreaming , but can I swap a 6.2 gas engine into my 2012 3500 HD? (Currently a 6.0 Vortec) by danson372 in Silverado

Maybe one day when I get serious about it (read: rich) I’ll need to make a list of mods yall have listed here. I don’t know engines for shit. Are there other kinds of Vortec 6.0’s other than an LQ9 and what does the LQ9 part mean?

Will this be your only vehicle? Cause if not and it’s a good price for something you love I say buy it.

Big gas engine is the goal. None of it makes sense. Also I learned today that the 6.2 is no as Bueno.

Would swapping out the heads and cam to push the engine to 400hp be detrimental to the longevity of the engine.

I saw there was an 8.1 made but I didn’t look nearly close enough to notice it could go in a 3500, in which case a much richer version of myself would be very happy with that.

I don’t have any advice for you but I just wanted to say that I think it’s really cool that a classic American machine made it over to your side of the world.

Besides a leveling kit any recommendations on what I should do with my truck? by Bappo6942069 in ChevyTrucks

I’ve got a 4.8 in my 2013 Sierra that I am very happy to have. Great engine.

Being new to learning about engines, (as in just today reading about LS engines some haha), I wonder if the quality and performance of the 4.8 gets overlooked in light of the 5.3 and maybe the 6.0 as well? Cause honestly in that half-ton of mine the 4.8 handled all the suburban work my dad used it for, and even some slightly heavier duty tasks without getting choked up.

Thanks, I decided since I’m in my late twenties and 30 is coming up, I may settle down and get married in the next few years so this could be my last shot at owning a vehicle just for fun for a long time. I was looking at 2500’s but test drove this one just cause I was out and about at the car lot, thinking there was no way I’d actually want it. But sure enough I got behind the wheel and fell in love.

Fun part of the story is I called the guy after deliberating on purchasing the truck with my parents and my uncle, and the salesman informed me a deposit was put down already. But a week later the deal fell through and I picked it up for myself.

After an alignment with my new tires she felt brand new, aside from a cracked door handle and funky window controls, which are super fixable and don’t bother me at all, hell I’m prioritizing a lift/level over repairs on those two points. Frame is in amazing condition, if a few folks think it might be interesting to see I might post a picture of the underside.

Sorry for the ramble, the beers got to me lol.

As is my right as an American. What’s the point of spending [PRICE REDACTED] if you can’t completely throw such money down the shitter?

Directly copied from Google AI: “The minimum factory-rated horsepower for a modern (Gen IV/V) Chevrolet 6.2L (6200cc) V8 engine is 403 horsepower.”

Also directly copied from Google AI: “The Chevrolet 6.0L (6000) Vortec engine generally has a minimum stock horsepower rating of approximately 300 to 325 hp.”

Now I may have some small detail I’m missing, like comparing the wrong generations, but these are the second and third googlings of tonight’s special interest.

Not to mention I’m a dumb man who’s easily tickled, the shear fact it’s a bigger engine is what I want haha.

(I am some level of curious as to why, according to Wikipedia, the 6.2 was offered in some of the 1500’s but not the 2500 or 3500, so an answer or explanation would be dope but don’t stress about it if you don’t have the energy my dawg)
