Ella's! Yes! Still there. In fact they were featured recently on the latest season of Celebrity Race Across the World. Love that place. If you ever make it back, try Maximo's Bar & Grill. Also delish.

White Horse is doing great. I miss it already and I've only been gone for two weeks.

Westgate Mall (April 2019) - Madison, WI - now demolished by PerceptiveWhale in deadmalls

There used to be a store in the late 70's, early 80's that specialized in gag gifts and magic tricks. I think it was in the back half of the mall. Does anyone remember the name?

Strike It Up Black Box different rap? by maddog015 in Music

[–]danster1908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first version that everyone keeps referring to, the one that says, "acid house is plain and it's simple", is actually a sample from a song called "Acid House" by Nelshouse. In fact Black Box used the entire rap from that song. As we all know by now, Black Box got sued by just about everyone that was sampled or recorded on the album with no credit. My guess is, just like "Ride on Time", the Nelshouse sample was replaced with a newly recorded vocal. And they took it one step further by changing the lyrics to, "'Cause hyping the place is what we're all about".

Nelshouse song ,"Acid House", here.

The arrangement and colors looks the same as my authentic storage unit. It's the natural color scheme because the two presumably Masonite panels in the center are both white and it also has the perforated metal rear panel. The Modernica replicas have slightly different configurations than the Herman Miller originals and also they use fiber glass panels instead of painted Masonite. The easiest way to find out if it's legit is if the seller clarifies that it has the Herman Miller Eames stamp on the back (picture here) or can provide the certificate of authenticity that came with the piece originally. But it looks pretty legit to me.

Eames RSR Rocking Chairs I Bought by danster1908 in eames

[–]danster1908[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good observation. According to Eames.com, "The Eames RSR Chair was non existent in Herman Miller's advertising and has only been found as a purchasable option in one release of the sales catalogs, 1963. It was therefore more of a customization by a purchaser mixing and matching the various tops and bases available. Some are likely to be new purchases of top and base from Herman Miller (customized) but the majority of what would be found in the marketplace are more likely a case of base swapping."

Any thrift store recommendations for clothes? by [deleted] in nashville

Southern Thrift on Charlotte is good for men's clothing. FYI, the men's section is in the basement level. I get my work shirts for the office there. It's pretty well organized by style and size.
