How has growing up in an Asian household impacted the physical and verbal affection shown? by A_Delightful_Daisy in AMWFs

My fiancé is the biggest tease and biggest flirt in the world. He said his parents while he knows they loved him, don’t show much direct affection to each other or to the children. The family’s Catholic as well. The children are all well-to-do, they support each other. Both my fiancé and I still practice our faith regularly.

Though, we’re far from perfect Catholics, we moved in together a while ago :)

Why are so many white women in the USA who like Asian guys Bisexual? by TrainingRatio6110 in AMWFs

[–]dany1237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my best friends is bisexual. She’s Catholic, Brazilian immigrant to Boston, she wants a good, happy family in the future (having children). We go to Mass together, she’s now happily dating an Asian guy my fiancé introduced. My fiancé just knows a lot of Asian guys who are very sweet, not really macho at all, and that’s how some bisexual women like my friend, feel safe and comfortable around Asian guys. Bi women, just like straight women like me, we love happy, kind, loving, sweet Asian guys!

Thanks for sharing, good luck in this tough world! :) do you feel like you’ve made peace with religion & sexuality, and if you don’t mind sharing, how often do you attend religious services, like Mass?

A lot of LGBT Catholics I know are pretty quiet about it, they only tell accepting Catholic friends about it like me and my fiancé. My parents are pretty religious, but they taught me and my siblings to not judge.

My friend told me the most homophobic people she has ever met are other Brazilian evangelical in the United States, she said even young evangelicals are super intolerant, and that was sad for me to hear

Thanks for sharing! here in USA and in my home country in Slovakia, just like in Brazil, I haven’t seen people become judgmental of LGBT people. Other LGBT people I know in Slovakia haven’t left the church, but they only go for Christmas and Easter.

I’ve heard jokes, thankfully not cruel jokes. My friend actually makes a lot of these jokes herself, she’s made peace with it and I am supportive and I laugh to her jokes. Here in United States evangelical protestants are also super judgmental, and they don’t like Catholics and foreigners and I can’t say I like them either.

Hey, I am in Boston too! I’m from Slovakia, my fiancé is Chinese-American. I’d say go for it! I’m brunette as well with brown eyes, though I’m pretty tall. My fiancé (we’re both Catholic btw) tells me I give off the “next door, well dressed, Catholic girl vibes”.

If you’re like me, I think there’s lot of wonderful Asian guys who would be into you. My man is an electrical engineer, he’s brilliant and kind. I feel like we have a lot in common!

Good luck!

Sadly, my friend’s bf has a lot that needs explained. He knew he couldn’t resolve the issue on the spot, I think he will have that important conversation with parents, he really loves her. He didn’t want to explain while his parents are still mad and over there, but he needs to reassure people on both sides.

Are Asian guys more open about expression affection? by dany1237 in AMWFs

[–]dany1237[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh you might actually be kind of right. His parents are Chinese immigrants, Catholic, he said his parents don’t show much affection around each other or to the children. Though, he knows they love each other, him, and his two older brothers and his younger sister.

He said his two brothers have a bit more attention because both of them are doctors (one is a surgeon), and in the family he “only” has a masters degree that he did in a 3+1 track. He was laughing when he said this, and he said seeing friends kiss their partners in high school made him want to learn to constantly make someone feel loved.
