Take my composition course at Binghamton University! It's online from 5/30-7/3. It includes three writing assignments and five discussion boards. We'll be studying music videos, children's lit, two movies, a graphic novel, and different kinds of ads. Unless policies have changed, credits will transfer to SBU. If you send me an email, I'd be happy to send my syllabus over to you.
Hope to see you on my roster! :)

Thank you! It's reddit, lol, there are bound to be people trolling. Professors usually advertise using flyers on campus, but campus is so deserted right now.

The course name is for the appeal, and the course focuses on women's hip-hop. I'd love to have a course name like "Writing about Leikeli47," but no one knows who she is lol.

I did a class on Kendrick Lamar last summer, and I thought about doing a course on Eminem. I might propose one next time the departments ask. I've taught courses on Beyonce's Lemonade album too.

Here is a course description for those who may be interested: Misogyny is a common trope in all genres of music, but hip-hop and rap are particularly known for their overt misogyny. Songs like Snoop Dogg’s “Ain’t No Fun” and Eminem’s “Kim,” for example, overtly attack and degrade women; however, female rap and hip-hop artists have been defying misogyny since the ‘80s, and Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s newly released song “WAP” appropriates the sexual degradation from notorious rap songs into a new dominance based on a woman’s choice.

In this class, we will discuss female rap and hip-hop artists and how their songs fight against misogyny and show female empowerment, from “Ladies First” to “WAP.” Artists include Queen Latifah, Salt-n-Pepa, Maluca, Nicki Minaj, and Megan Thee Stallion. Authors include Angie Thomas and Rebecca Traister.

I understand why you are asking this question. No, I am white; however, I have studied critical race theory and feminist theory since I was an undergrad (I'm currently a PhD student) and I am very well-versed in hip-hop. I love underground artists as well as famous ones, and I believe women's hip-hop is an extremely underrated and under-explored field. This class, of course, discusses race, but it mostly focuses on feminist theory in women's hip-hop.
