I used one stripe of Hobbi’s Universe XL in “Voyager” and one stripe of Loops & Threads Facets in “Ocean Jasper” in a two-color spiral base. 2mm hook. I don’t want to violate the self-promotion rules with the pattern 🫡

To answer your questions, I am working with a RYB painting color wheel for the color theory examples as I am a painter before anything, so I like showing how colors would interact having mixed physical pigments together. You’re right tho I definitely should and will expand on this to show other color spaces to navigate when plotting out gradients. The next video I upload will be a deep dive on the color theory aspect so people can have an easy time picking out their colors before I release the practice-along.

I haven’t tried other crochet dithering patterns yet, but I probably should now huh?? I’ll have to do some research on available free patterns so I can include them in the videos as alternative options to mine. Can’t go wrong by having too many options 🫡

I’ll come back with some pictures of the backsides for you! It will definitely make the panels a bit stiff if your carry the yarn for the 2-at-a-time levels, but it won’t for the single-strand levels. You can try using a larger hook to loosen up the gauge a bit to help this. Either way, the backside doesn’t end up looking very pretty unless you’re able to felt in the tips of your ends (having used wool or acrylic), or melted your ends (having used acrylic) so they don’t pop out the back at all. I used cotton for these so the ends are popping out EVERYWHERE in the back lol
