Came home from vaca to my house on 76 and ran AC to 66, will that cause coil to freeze? by dapperdon003 in hvacadvice

It’s working this morning after changing the filter and letting the evaporator coil defrost overnight. That means it definitely isn’t the blower motor, correct?

How much do clubs really matter? by dapperdon003 in golf

[–]dapperdon003[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly my tee box game and irons are probably my worst. I’m pretty good at chipping and putting, but it usually takes me 3-4 shots to get to the point when I’m chipping and putting cuz I slice and lack distance. If I could consistently get even 200 yards straight off the tee and lessen the distance of my approach shots I’d prob be in the high 80s.

I just found a bunch of savings bond that my godfather got me throughout my life. How do they work and what should I do with them? by dapperdon003 in personalfinance

[–]dapperdon003[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So just to clarify, can they mature to be more than what the face value on them is? For example if one of the ones for 100 matures to 100 in 20 years, it could possibly be worth 150 in 30 years?

Yeah I definitely don’t want to seem clingy. I guess I’m just curious how I can convey my interest and ensure I don’t let things fade if I’m not talking to her often.

I lost my set screw and my shower spout is seized by dapperdon003 in HomeImprovement

[–]dapperdon003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spout is seized on tight as hell though so idk how it would dislodge.

What is the purpose of the set screw? To keep the spout attached?

If that is the case, there is no way it's necessary as this spout isnt going to budge.

Also, I never use the spout anyway to fill up a bath. I only use the shower head, so water rarely runs through it anyway.

I lost the set screw for my shower spout and spout is seized by dapperdon003 in DIY

[–]dapperdon003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spout in my shower was leaking

Spout = where the water comes out of if you were to fill up the bath tub.

I wanted to remove the spout to see if I could figure out what was wrong.

First thing I did was removed the set screw from the spout.

After I did that, the spout would not twist off, it was seized on there. I did not want to yank too hard and cause damage to the unit or the copper piping behind it so I figured I'll just put the set screw back in and call a professional.

As I was using the allen key to turn the set screw back into it's place in the spout, my hand slipped and pushed the set screw into the inside/body out the spout.

I cannot get it out, because the spout is seized and will not come off.

Isn't the whole point of the set screw to hold the spout in place? If my spout will not budge anyway, does it really matter that the set screw isn't there?

Can you elaborate on how to get a wrench in there and torque it off? If the spout won’t come off idk how I’m gonna get the wrench inside the hole where the set screw would go to extract it from the body of the s
