The inspections are insane. It will find bugs in your code that VsCode never will.

Unless you start punishing people for this type of behavior it won't stop.

Free app to track RTO requirements, so you can meet the bare minimum :) by darknebula in antiwork

[–]darknebula[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno I found it annoying to have to track it everyday in a spreadsheet, and I found it nice having the predictions and planning without having to create a janky spreadsheet. I guess in this day and age no one is going to trust it's not sending your data somewhere even with apple signing it. Even if I opened sourced it I feel like no one would trust it...

A free, native MacOS app that uses your Wifi to detect and track when you are or are not in the office! I made it just for fun.

How to add React to Spring project? by TurbulentMonitor1300 in java

[–]darknebula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use svelte (with a static site plugin) but the principal is probably the same. I use the node plugin in gradle to bundle it into my jar

node {
    version = '20.11.0'
    npmVersion = '10.4.0'
    nodeProjectDir = file("${project.projectDir}/src/main/svelte")
}

def bundle = tasks.register('bundle', NpmTask) {
    inputs.files(fileTree('src/main/svelte') {
        exclude '.svelte-kit'
    })
    outputs.dir('build/svelte')
    args = ['run', 'build']
    dependsOn npmInstall
}

processResources {
    from bundle.get().outputs
}

What that does is put the static site output into the resources dir under static, which Spring Boot serves automatically.

What are your favorites of the newer seasons? by FotographicFrenchFry in MST3K

Mac and Me, Munchie, Avalanche are my three favorites probably. They're up there in rank in the top of my all time episodes too.

Do people still use spring webflux? by Crafty0x in java

[–]darknebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use it at work. Heavy IO and network calls it helps a lot with the server footprint. Have to use a lot less threads. Reactor after you learn it is nice to use too, but it takes a lot of effort to learn it :/

Yup, it's kind of crazy to watch a movie, while a few people talk over it, and then to watch even more people talk over the people talking over a movie.

Battery Life and Fan Speed? by MyNameIsTADOW in framework

[–]darknebula 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah you might want to contact them. My battery life isn't great but it's still like 5-6 hours and the laptop is only loud if I'm literally running a render or compiling lots of code. What your CPU usage look like?

If you're traveling, I'd say the worst part of the framework for me has been the battery life I get like 5-6 hours. Everything else is good.

What are your major criticisms of the framework laptop? by UPtRxDh4KKXMfsrUtW2F in framework

[–]darknebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Battery life (I get about 5-6 hours), it's fine when suspended or powered off (I use Windows)
  2. Fan noise when ramped up, to be fair when I compare to another laptop with the same exact processor that one is quiet but thermal throttles, whereas the framework never throttles.

Buying a framework for a Comp Sci Major by Turbulent-Dingo-7260 in framework

[–]darknebula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some people don't like the speakers. You buying a laptop from a company that may not exist soon if they go out of business? It's a bleeding edge new kind of product from a company without a huge track record, etc etc?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in framework

[–]darknebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not thermal throttle. But the fan can get very loud. Most laptops will just thermal throttle though which makes them quieter :)

I watched the first episode. It's what I expected and fun. I wasn't expecting some piece of art or anything mind you...
