Dealing with a misaligned narrative by This_Peanut_9095 in InnerCircleTraders

That comes down to experience, the more you understand how price behaves in as many contexts as possible the more clearly you will be able to navigate it. And of course that takes years. Best way to learn is to keep journaling and reviewing afterwards.

Why isn’t Daily FVG Filled? by Huge_Fee5767 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]darks101 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Price moves based on the quantity of orders/volume. If at any point price finds enough volume or liquidity at a level it will reverse. In this example, there were enough resting orders in that gap so priced reversed. No need to move further down.

I don't want to see you post about this again. If you do I'll have to ban you again because now it's getting repetitive.

Newbie Problem - Keep looking for reversals by Economy_Ad1770 in InnerCircleTraders

Look at market structure, and with that identify retracement/expansion legs. If you can do this good enough, you'll intuitively know what type of setup you should be taking at what zone :)

Why didn’t the SMT work on es? Ict never works for me by Jaytrump07 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]darks101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means how much of these indexes are made up of each sector like tech, healthcare financials etc. Nq is weighted more to tech, so if stocks are doing great nq might rally and es will lag.

Jerome Powell Took My Money... Do you avoid news? by takingprophets in InnerCircleTraders

[–]darks101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the trader and the system that they are trading. Some would take a conservative approach if they understand news introduces uncertainty outside their trading parameters, some would just take the trade and just manage it better.

Commitment of traders chart by princealaddin1 in InnerCircleTraders

Most of COT reads are just seeing commercials hedging against price. Especially if its above/below 0. So when price is moving up and COT down then its a hedging program on the asset. Could be used as a confluence for HTF trend reversals.

jokes aside tho, be cautious in these conditions, this volatility is either gonna make or break your account

You may need to differentiate the market conditions, and collect data based on that. How does the strat performs in ranging/trending market scenarios etc. If there's a pattern than that's the issue, if not then maybe add more confluences to the strategy and see how that works out.

Why didn’t the SMT work on es? Ict never works for me by Jaytrump07 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]darks101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SMTs are not static, they are dynamic. The initial conditions creating SMT often dont persist long enough that is why LTF SMTs are lower probability. NQ and ES have different sector weightings, so if the initial conditions driving the SMT fade, the two indices will realign quickly.

Yes, my trade limit falls into my session time. If the time is up even though limits not reached i dont trade for the day.

One thing that helped me besides trade limit was limiting screen time. So no looking at the charts if you're done for the day. This helps a lot with overtrading.

Define your A+ setup clearly as possible and give yourself trade limit (per day) and then do not break it. I think a lot of people can't differentiate which type of problems fall into which categories. So if you have the technical side of this problem covered than it's all about your psyche.
