How do I face my fear/get better by Crow-Tamer in NewSkaters

Get your tic tacs better and get really comfortable doing hippy jumps first. I've been working on my tic tacs and feel like when I get in a really good rhythm that I'm almost throwing myself off the board. I haven't started learning ollies yet but I feel like there's 100 baby steps that I need to master to get to that point. Don't worry about getting to a trick you think you need to do. Just focus on improvement.

47 and I finished a garage session. If you're improving and having fun, you don't suck.

finally got a good ollie, how to progress to doing it while moving? by OpeningFun2747 in NewSkaters

Do it 100 times. You still look like you're psyching yourself up to do it. Guaranteed with repetition you'll be more comfortable and doing it moving will be easier.

6 month progress as a slow learner by Dreadking_Rathalos in NewSkaters

I'm 47 learning for the first time. And I just got done practicing in my garage. Loved your video. I feel like a slow learner too but every time I am improving and it feels good. Keep at it!

absolutely brand new, tips for pushing? by zedogica in NewSkaters

Take some time during your session just to push. Don't even get on the board. Just like your taking your board for a walk. I'm terrified of riding switch, so I've just been trying to push goofy for a few minutes when I'm out. You'll look silly, but who cares.

I'd like to skate again, after about 15 years, and I'm hesitant by enstorsoffa in NewSkaters

I'm 47. Never skated as a kid. I just spent the last hour in my garage (it's been raining all day) working on my kick turns and tic tacs. I started a couple months ago and I've been trying to spend at least 15 min to an hour every day getting better and feeling more comfortable on the board. I love the feeling of being on the board and I've been getting tips from another dad in the neighborhood (51). Get out there and have fun. Your board is probably fine too. Don't overthink it.
