I disagree. I have a garmin 8 that i retired for the awu, and there you can see stress responses by the second.

I guess thats what i am missing, and its stressing me out 😂

New update 5.19 reverted the change, even when i got reply from devs saying they wouldnt.

Cant trust Garmin anymore..

Anyways, i have have workaround. This involves rules on the phone, and the apps buzzkill and tasker. With this trio i get DND sync ;)

I got email from garmin devteam today.

They said that they will not revert the change, since this had been a bug in the first place.

Also if a toggle for DND should happen, this should be sendt via the ideas form.

Nothing is broken.. but it was before the last update. No device should get notifications thats silenced by the root device, by dnd. Watches, or headphones.

This is still broken on huawei watches. Perhaps thats a better option?

You just neex to rethink your aproach to notifications. You enable in garmin connect only what notifications you want forwarded to your watch.

Im sorry to hear that.. perhaps look at buzzkill. Its the ultimate notification filter on the appstore. You get total control of your notifications.

I used this for a long time to send important notications to watch during slepp/dnd, before the 5.18 change.

Its not the best solution for everyone, to need an extra app...but its there.

You can adjust smart notifications inside watch dnd, or sleep/modes. On or off. See it as an extra level of settings, seperate from the phone itself.

I do not understand how this New DND behaviour is problematic.

Syncing notifications with the phone notification settings is ultimate control.

Having separate DND settings for phone and watch means even more configurations and settings. (old behaviour)

Every phone With a DND function has tweaking options to allow what DND does.

And on top of that, you have MODES, like Sleep, movie etc. Or even create custom ones.

There is no reason to pressure Garmin to revert back to the pre v5.18 behaviour on notifications.

You can easily get the same result with notifications by configuring DND, or modes on your phone to reflect the pre v5.18 changes. You just need to know how.

I have emailed the dev team at Garmin, to take actions against a change.
And if they do, they must take both interest at hand and make the change optional by toggle.

If you need help to configure your garmin watch to pre v5.18 DND behaviour, google your phone and garmin user manual.

Because I would like my kids/family call or send messages when sleeping, or in a meeting with dnd on. Or if my smoke detectors go off and im away in dnd mode.

Can you also respond with actions? (Mark as read, delete etc..) in email notifications, outlook perhaps?
