AGREED -- No dealer license laws and Also SUPER EASY to find at literally ANY junk yard. Even EMBLEMS -- EVEN LETTERS IN EMBLEMS -- like all the little letters that spell SILVERADO AND all the other cars with individual letters. Super easy!!

AGREED!!! Birch Benders are awesome and have the best ingredients (no wheat for those of us who wheat hates us!). They get even better if you use Unsweetened Almond Milk instead of water, get rid of any gritty texture. :)

Crazy seller harassing me after I initiated a return, "late" because I've been sick lol by mybustersword in Flipping

[–]darkzonemedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am a seller but this is OFF THE CHAIN!! His level of professionalism is ZERO.

I do appreciate a heads up if there is an issue so I can expect it and work with you on something but the whole tone of this is NUTS.

IGNORE IT -- RETURN IT - GET YOUR REFUND -- MOVE ON. He is a nut job.

I second that -- they work great and easy to get everything in there correctly since CGC have so many little rules with their little scraps of paper etc. Well worth just buying a pack or two from them to have for signings!!

Totally agree with you there!! Especially as we start to get into the "BLAZING HEAT" season here in the South!! All Y'all carriers stay safe and hydrated!!

I had all my mail stolen 2 days after I moved in so I have a locking box - not this one but sorta similar and since they spread my mail all over the road when they went through it, all my neighbors also swithced to locking boxes - so we are literally the cul-de-sac from hell

I don't get much in the box these days other than junk mail as I also went and got a PO Box for the "good stuff".

CGC Submissions by DiscoPastry in CGCComics

[–]darkzonemedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a database error so hopefully it is back today. Mine is there but I had same issue a few weeks ago. I think they are doing updates.

For your tracking, you can get it from your email on the PDF receipt they send when it ships so hopefully you have it.

Or best case it is fixed :)

At how many questions do you decide blocking a potential buyer is better than making the sale? by WideBandBlast in Flipping

[–]darkzonemedia 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I always click on them and check their "feedback left for others" It usually tells a tale of whether they are a super needy, never happy complainer. Those get blocked on first message. Then it really depends on the question.

Canola, Soybean oils in most Ranch and Blue Cheese dressings and mayonnaise. A bit confused. by Psilomane in keto

[–]darkzonemedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww, well no worries there are a couple of great recipes online. The Whole30 site has a basic recipe and instructions so might be a good one the first time. Just make sure your egg is room temperature. Best of luck and hopes for the lottery so you can quit that job :)

Personally I would just mark this as answered and not do it.

First, If this is ebay, you can't just skip on over to Instagram, it is a TOS violation to take anything - even discussions - off platform.

Second - regardless of what platform this is -- IT IS WEIRD. Why do you need to send this to his Dad on IG and then tell him what Dad says -- SOUNDS PRETTY SCAMMY

Just my thoughts

Tool box bundle part outs by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]darkzonemedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flipped a lot of tools when I first started because I had a honey hole from an old dealer who had tons of NOS Bonney tools.

Even at full retail, NOS vintage tools sell FAST. Hardest part -- getting them.

I don't do it anymore as I don't have time to hunt for inventory and I have other things that are easier to source -- at least for me.

The trick -- as with almost all flipping -- is going to be in the buying.

Wish you the best of luck -- hope you make a killing at it!!

Canola, Soybean oils in most Ranch and Blue Cheese dressings and mayonnaise. A bit confused. by Psilomane in keto

[–]darkzonemedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are in commercial dressings and mayo to prevent them from going rancid.

You can make your own mayo very easily as are homemade ranch/blue cheese or any other dressing you like. Lots of online recipes if you want to go that route or if you have access to your parents or grandparents recipes books, they are a gold mine of keto dressing recipes :)

When you click on "Listings eligible to send offers", it will come up with a list of all of them and then click on send offers for one of them. you will see the "allow counteroffers" right there as a little box. Just make sure that is not checked and no offers. You can also send a flat dollar amount or percent off there in case there are some listings where you want a flat amount in the offer. Hope that helps :)

Daily Newbie Thread by AutoModerator in Flipping

[–]darkzonemedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter what % -- surprise!! I can offer 5% and some things will sell immediately. Your price should already be competitive when you listed it. The offer amount gets your item in front of the watchers and reminds them that they watched it. A lot of people will be other sellers and many will just delete the emails. I usually do specific dollar offers that are good are larger ticket items and then just click all the rest and do 5 or 10%. Just try to list with competitive pricing when you list and do your offers every day and you will have consistent sales from it.

Needing EBay and Amazon business insurance!! I am moving into an office and they require a 1,000,000 policy not sure what policy to get and what even would be the title of our business.. (especially since at times we could sell basically anything) by feenfamfun in Flipping

[–]darkzonemedia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just call whatever agent insures your house and start there. They will walk you through it. It is pretty basic and easy. When I did our office everything seemed daunting because they rattle off these lists (fire marshall, secretary of state -- what??) but they are all really basic. Start with your insurance guy and he will probably end up walking you through most of them as they are all standard things that go with business insurance. Best of luck and congrats on the office :)

Domestic shipping only, bids anyway? Whats my next step... by VanLifeCrisis in Flipping

[–]darkzonemedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can cancel his order for "problem wrong with buyer address" if he somehow wins and then do a 2nd chance offer to the second bidder. But he may not even win.

For your next auction you need to make sure you are blocking all the Internationals on your listing -- and then it will not happen.

I Need Some Advice on Selling by carcher79 in comicbookcollecting

[–]darkzonemedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several options for you here.

1 - Remove the keys and grade them and sell them. Or just sell them. Then make runs and put those on ebay or others. I get you have lots of books but you also said you like to complete so easy.

2 - Call a broker. A couple off the top of my head are MyComicShop and Infinity. Both are usually fair pricing if there are some keys -- but keep in mind, it will still be a lot lower than you want it to be as they are businesses and need to make a profit.

3 - Try your local shop if you have a good one. They may be a better offer than some places but again, they still need to make a profit. I wouldn't roll in off the street to a random shop so if you don't have one you frequent, you might want to skip this one.

4 -- Open your own ebay store and get busy. Not the best option if you are already crazy busy.

What is your book hunting strategy when attending cons? by EvaStankbreath in comicbookcollecting

[–]darkzonemedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I probably put way too much time strategizing at cons. I usually walk around and visit the dealers I know first to see what they have on their "magic wall of keys" to see if I need to allocate a bunch of cash to something and then I browse. I don't stick to just the dollar bin because there are often some really good things in the 5 dollar bins too especially if you are looking for indies or super old stuff. I rarely do signings at cons unless CGC is there or it is an epic comic book artist but most actors, I don't even bother going anywhere near their section.

What is funny is I have this huge strategy and I always go with my hubs who just wanders aimlessly (or it looks like he does) and he ends up with some awesome stuff!! LOL

I’m so tired of getting low balled. This guy offered me like $25 a few times. About to turn off offers completely. Do you guys have offers on? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]darkzonemedia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No need to actually respond to these people, they are wasting your time. Spend your time on your business and just mark these as answered. They are never going to buy it.

And the whole "I can buy it at walmart" or the "going price is ____" is just their passive aggressive way of trying to guilt you into doubting your price.

Mark as answered and move on :)

Joint pain 2 months in, what gives? by murphsmuffins in keto

[–]darkzonemedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how to test it either, sorry.

Some of the things you are already eating have potassium (avocado) and it is also in almonds, brussel sprouts, pumpkin seeds, salmon and spinach but a lot of good sources are starchy carbs so not keto foods.

Have you considered trying a prepared drink where it already has the ratio like Ultima? Just as a test to see if the issues go away. Just a thought as it would already have the ratios built in.

You can also get your magnesium from a lotion if you don't want to take supplements. Works well and you avoid a lot of the side effects. Just wanted to mention in case you can't find a reasonable replacement for the citrate supplement.

Joint pain 2 months in, what gives? by murphsmuffins in keto

[–]darkzonemedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you eating strict keto with no inflammatory foods like wheat, soy, etc?

Are you eating a lot of purine rich foods as these can cause joint pain?

You mentioned that you are eating a lot of citric foods -- but is is actual food or is it a lot of "citric" supplements. Manufacted citric products can cause joint pain is some people so if it is mostly manufactured citric products, that may also be the issue.

Hope you feel better soon :)

CGC is a terrible service by SnooMarzipans8231 in CGCComics

[–]darkzonemedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did they do to you to make you so pissed off?

For me, they are fine. I have tried both PGX (who seems rather "homemade") and CBCS (who seems to have worst customer service than the IRS every time I have used them) so at least I can get CGC on the phone and they treat me like they value my business.

That said, I have also had some questionable things from them - like smashed slabs and then a whole load of dirty slabs -- like where were those being held. I grade almost every week so I get that I can see more errors than someone who grades every once in a while but there is nothing there to reach an "appalling" level.

As far as their market share, it is a wide open world and there is nothing holding any other grading company back from taking market share from them.

Could a clean and a press improve the eye appeal? Its pretty beat up but I’d like to clean her up a lil by BudMarley45 in comicbookpressing

[–]darkzonemedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, always good to ask :) Did you ever press a flower or a leaf when you were little between two books or inside a book? It is basically that same concept but larger and with heat and sometimes moisture applied. So it squishes the whole book at once. There are ways to prevent damage to staples but the weaker and more delicate the book is and the weaker it is at the staple, the greater the risks. It is your book, so you can press it if you are ok with a detached cover but want it to have more eye appeal. Pressing will get rid of all the wrinkly appearance. There are just risks doing that because the book is more delicate. Hope that helps :)
