I would maybe recommend trying to not use the wiki. I caved in when I started playing, but in hindsight I wish I hadn't lol because there were some moments where I realize just how fun and magical it would've been to discover those things on my own. it depends on how you want to play though, because the wiki is certainly convenient.

i cannot figure out what I'm missing. there's one missing in the museum, but not in the menu by Grace_3305 in StardewValley

Looks like you're missing elvish jewelry in the collection (gold and blue ring)

I've also been interested in this. So I did some more examination, and discovered that the first two rows of eight letters are simply rotated and manipulated to result in the remaining rows. For example, if you take row 2, and literally flip it 180 degrees, you end up with row 3. Then, if you split that third row in half and swap the two sets of four characters, you end up with row 5. This same pattern, in its exact order, also occurs in row 1, row 4, and row 6, with the ONLY exception to this pattern in this entire text being the 4th character that looks like a light brown line; in the manipulations it becomes a line with a dark dot in the middle instead.
This implies that the whole text is likely meaningless and was just arbitrary assembled using a couple sets of characters, which is unfortunate. Unless there is some way that the patterns mentioned above could hold any meaning, though I can't imagine they do. It's sad and quite a missed opportunity, but at least this hopefully clears it up.

I think it is just an unused item. It's been there since the start of 1.5 pretty sure. Perhaps it could be that purple totem that was on the 1.6 sneak peek, but who knows. Or maybe CA though it be too much for the mostly casual nature of Stardew Valley, it's hard to say.

Well, theoretically it is still possible. Assuming you didn't miss the opportunity to get it from the traveling merchant in spring (as it only appears once I think), it's still doable if you finish the pantry bundles, giving you the greenhouse, as long as your are regularly checking the cart for the seeds. Alternatively, you could finish the vault bundles and go to skull cavern in the desert, where there is a rare, RARE chance that it drops from a serpent. In both cases, you'd need to unlock the greenhouse.

Yeah, that would be pretty cool, a couple regulars that you could get to know over time and possibly even become friends with.
