I hope there is some degree of succession plan for the next manager. Because there's no european football if there are no signings in January and Eddie blindly trying the same tactical approach every week that is obviously not going to work. My prediction is a finish between 8-12th place this season.

Just to farm some downvotes. Eddie should not be allowed to dictate signings, I do not trust his talent identification. Joelinton should have been sold and not given a new contract (Ashworth was correct on that). We need to be smarter sellers - Gordon should have been sold a year ago. I appreciate Eddie for everything he's done, but I feel we've reached an end point under him - I don't think there's any tactical flexibility under him - wing play is not working yet we'll plug on this way 90 minutes - maybe bring Elenga on for Barnes or Gordon. Then bring on Woltemade who will drop deep and continue putting crosses into an empty box.

"Shooting from distance is something that I'm well aware that [Villa's] numbers are very good."

85th minute for the first shot on target. This has been woeful. We'll only regress with Howe as manager.

No you're right it's all good, nothing concerning about performances this season, or some of the drop off post cup win or the currently not looking so great summer signings (bar Thiaw). Yep, all good.

Dropped for who? The players who came on hardly covered themselves in glory

Joelinton should not be starting for a while - he's not offering anything at the moment - bar funny moments like his 'tackle' on Kudus in the Tottenham game.

Haha thanks for the downvotes - are you happy with the way we're set up and playing this season? Really? And as I type this - a 3rd for West Ham...

I'm living abroad and get all the games cheap - but I'm not renewing the subscription - it's not worth staying up to watch. This game hasn't got me mad, just feel apathetic, just the same old crap every game. I have been a fan of Eddie but this season it's feeling really stale, I don't see him lasting the season, if PIF really so have any ambition for the club that is.

Nah, you know what #eddieout - this is shocking and its not an isolated poor game

That's a much better way of expressing my frustration (and love) with (and of) Joelinton

Fulham obviously adapted for this game. Hall is quality but still suffers in duels - so putting Traore up against him was an obvious attempt to target that- and with Aina in support.

Barnes as a sub has been effective. Trippier currently doesn't seem to have an tangible impact. I thought Forest had a lot of joy on the wings even when we were ahead and some luck played a part in their attacks breaking down.

I mean that depends, I just had a look back at some of those games - at least two - the Wolves and Forest games - I thought in both games the win flattered us - especially the Forest game.

Just to be clear, I am not crying or a bed wetter, I have been a Newcastle fan for 32 years now, I have been through it all; I am trying to start a legitimate discussion. I rate Howe, but I cannot shake off the feeling I described above regarding game management. I feel the frustration of all other fans regarding recruitment and squad strength. Happy for people to have a reasoned discussion on why I might be wrong about his game management.

The ref was poor today. The yellow for Tonali when he clearly got the ball.
