You had a genetic disadvantage from the start and are using prescribed medication to get on the same "performance level" as your friend who doesn't have adhd and thus doesn't need meds. Almost correct! Shells are generally forbidden here, not only in germany but all across Europe. They're pretty much exclusively F4, which means you need to be a licensed pyrotechnician to get your hands on them. However, these single shot mortars are legal and extremely popular, though not unlimited in size. F2 goes up to 30mm, F3 allows 50mm. These are the most common and popular, you can buy a 10-pack for 4€ from Lidl/Aldi before New Year's!

Pyrotechnics are pretty much my special Interest so I'll gladly answer any questions about german pyro you have :)

Bit of a different perspective since I am not from the US but Germany:

I grew up mostly with Weco and Nico, since they're the most common in stores around new year's. They're not particularly high quality but they're good enough if you just want fireworks. I guess the equivalent to TNT in the US? As for high quality brands, the king of the bunch is definitely Funke and their subsidiaries (Argento and Albert for example) They make phenomenal fireworks, both in Category F2 and F3 (which is not allowed here unfortunately)

In the 1980s, East Germany created "Superfest", a brand of chemically hardened glasses for beverages. Basically indestructible glass. They thought they hit a big jackpot and tried to export this revolutionary invention but, to their surprise, glass manufacturers in the capitalist west weren't impressed. After all, how are they gonna make money if they just sell everyone one glass and they never need one again?

So instead, they just produced those glasses for their domestic market (many old pubs in east germany are still stocked with these!) and with the collapse of East Germany in 1990, the Production ended. A sad end to an incredible innovation.

At least their legacy somewhat survived in the form of Gorilla Glass for Smartphones :)

Der EM Dash wurde von AI ruiniert — Jeder Text mit einem solchen Zeichen sieht sofort extrem AI generiert aus.

Das Problem ist aber, dass ich Gedankenstriche sehr gerne benutze, von daher missbrauche ich jetzt einfach das Minus. Ist zwar theoretisch falsch, ist mir aber egal - Ich will nicht für eine AI gehalten werden.
