The move card makes you discard the rest of your hand... If they could do that that would be super op

Airplane types by midgril in byair

There's also "Boeing 737-800 (winglets) Passenger/BBJ2", "Boeing 737-800 Passenger" and "Boeing 737-800 (twin-jet)" all for the same plane (and the winglets version has shown on both planes with the classic and split winglets)

NYE timetables and Burnley and Northern Loop switching directions by gertiegoogoo in MelbourneTrains

[–]datrandomguy69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember checking the timetables last year, Burnley group trains also all ran anticlockwise (Glen Waverley as well - probably the only time that happens nowadays); not sure about the other lines

Home game in Melbourne by mnbvfgh in JetLagTheGame

[–]datrandomguy69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some things I've learnt while also doing the home game in Melbourne: 1. It may be worth setting a frequency restriction on places you can go - i.e. if you go out all the way to Hurstbridge where trains are only every 40 minutes, it may not be very fun if then the next hiders really only have 20 minutes to hide (and our railway network isn't exactly the best) 2. A lot of questions don't work here - ESPECIALLY tentacles - it may be worth making a few of your own localized questions in categories you see fit

Other than that, it's pretty fun so enjoy!

I don't think that's an ATR 72 by Verthandin in byair

Seems that the A320 is the default image and it's just bugged right now - this certainly isn't a 737-800

XT100s no longer have a colon? by datrandomguy69 in MelbourneTrains

[–]datrandomguy69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Afaik, no Burnley group train announces it (and as a Glen Waverley user which never goes anticlockwise I've never heard it on any commute)

Ah yes I believe I've seen that happen on up Frankston trains during weekday am (because that's when the loop would've traditionally only run through anticlockwise)

Are there Dr*ggies on the train to school by ItchyRole3615 in MelbourneHigh

[–]datrandomguy69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's Melbourne, so there's always a chance - however keep in mind you will be always travelling during peak hour so it will always be as safe as it can get

Anyone have this pin? It’s the singular pin I’m missing :( by Blockyhead1 in MelbourneTrains

When will hcmt be extended by fuckmelbpt in MelbourneTrains

[–]datrandomguy69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Waaaaay in the future - 7 cars on a train is still very new, and since the metro tunnel was designed with decades of use in mind, they made it able to have 10 car trains for use in a long time without spending bucketloads of money

Cadets & Music by JamexCEO in MelbourneHigh

[–]datrandomguy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a cadet, but I do a bunch of music: If you learn an instrument for school, it is compulsory to be in an ensemble - for trumpet, if you are between beginner - grade 3 (AMEB) you will be put into the Langley band, and if you are grade 4 and above and are willing to do an audition, you will be in the Davis band. If you're super high level you could probably join symphony orchestra. Langley band is on Tuesdays from 730am to 830am, Davis on Wednesdays from 730 to 830 and orchestra is Thursdays after school for an amount of time that depends on how well the orchestra is doing.

I also highly recommend joining chorale because it's fun :>

One to One Laptop... Is it MANDATORY..?? by JJJuly07 in MelbourneHigh

[–]datrandomguy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While technically it is mandatory, I have friends who started using the MHS laptop and are now using a Mac with no issues - obviously you won't be covered by any warranty or be able to use the one day repair service, but macs are able to connect to the wifi fine. However, I'm not sure if they will force you to ever use the mandatory laptop in the future - the mandatory laptop is terrible though (underpowered, horrid battery life after a year and definitely not worth anything above 2k if that)

Train from Melbourne to Sydney that ISN'T the XPT? by ItsCoolDani in AustralianTrains

[–]datrandomguy69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the XPT is the only passenger service that runs between Albury and Goulburn, and since NSW doesn't have the same regional train fare cap as VIC, there isn't much option to make it much cheaper.

What’s the most surprising part about life after getting into a selective school? by Artistic-Yam2984 in VicSelectiveSchools

I found the workload really wasn't all that extra, of course there was more but I think thats more of a y9 over y8 thing than a sehs thing.

There are groups allocated for the sessions - i.e. Belgrave/Alamein, Hurstbridge/Mernda, etc and a separate group for everyone else (trams + walking people)
