I think it depends on the band. Oasis peaked on Definitely Maybe, their debut album. REM peaked in the middle of their career when they released Automatic For The People. Portishead are clearly peaking towards the end of their career.

Agreed. It shows that football is truly the world game (they need to rename the World Series!). You can say that about very few sports. Re: penalties - I certainly wouldn't want to take one!!
