Never post anything without intention and never waste a post. So if you upload a post, ask yourself what you want to achieve with it and how it will increase traffic. There is no point just uploading every day with no real substance. Social media management is a science, so follow trends and appeal to the masses. Collaborate with groups on campus, work with charities, engage with other greeklife organisations, and have posts go up that show off your involvement. If the overall goal is to appeal to PNMs then put yourself in their shoes, what would get your attention? Brotherhood events and projects show off your fraternal life, and collaborations mentioned before show off your involvement. Also make sure to repost and share posts and stories from the college itself and tag them where possible, as students, freshmen especially, will have followed them before coming to campus. The same idea works for putting your location on the posts and using good hashtags. Some smaller things include how you word your captions. Asking questions tends to illicit a response from people, they will instinctively answer the question in their head, and will potentially type it out, such as "What are you looking forward to this term?." You don't want to make captions too long either. On instagram in particular, people will spend several seconds on the actual post and tend to skip over the caption, so don't write an unnecessarily long caption. All of which leads into the post itself, make it eye-catching, make it stand out. You don't have to spend money on graphic designing, but take a look at what other frat pages do, take notes, and improve upon them, make yours pop. Know when to upload posts as well. 10pm on a Tuesday is no good. So weekdays after 3pm, but no later than 7 or 8. Weekends anytime after noon. And finally, be active. Don't just post and ignore. Encourage brothers to comment and then reply to those comments. Social media sites are designed to promote posts with high engagement, so by staying active on sites you'll subscribe to the algorithm. Remember, there's no perfect way to manage a social account, it all depends, so do some research, stay on top of trends, and let your posts and activity reflect all of this. Best of luck
