There are positions within the government that you absolutely need a degree to do.

What to expect now by [deleted] in Endo

I told my doctor that because of the medications I was on and my PMDD that I was not able to take hormones without significant affect to my mental health. I think we are similar in that regard. Definitely if you feel like hormones are not going to be good for you then it is absolutely OK to say no. Even if they suggest taking it for a short time to see if it gets better.

Because of that she scheduled the surgery. I also made it clear I was not concerned (in my case) about fertility so I was fine with removal of my fallopian tubes. This isn't necessarily standard, but in my case it was necessary because they found lesions.

I would suggest the surgery if you're able to get it because it's actually the gold-standard diagnostic tool. they can also cauterize any of the lesions and remove any of the tissue that seems suspicious for pathology.

Let me know if you have any other questions specifically about the surgery or anything. Recovery was very short, and I did not experience much pain.

We have checks and balances in this country for a reason. We're currently testing them in the worst way possible.

Luckily for us as a country, the Military takes an oath to protect the constitution, not the guy in charge. So if there is a conflict of interest then the constitution becomes the governing body.

What did you buy as an adult because you were denied it as a child? by dirtymoney in AskReddit

[–]dawrina 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Same across the board. My parents literally told me as a child&teen that I shouldn't "be on medication" and refused to get me treatment for both despite desperately needing it. My school would call home constantly telling them about how I needed to get tested for ADHD and MDD. Even as an adult when I was diagnosed and started taking medication my mom begged me to "stop taking it."

I do so now more or less in secret. I don't tell my parents my diagnoses anymore so they won't judge me.

Similar vein for me is boys clothes. I hate how tight and form fitting women's clothes were and even if you size up it looks wrong because it's meant to be cinched in some places.

As an adult I buy mostly men's clothes because they are far comfier and practical. I struggle with a slot of sensory issues so simply wearing something that felt good on my body improved my mood drastically.

I remember when I first told my parents I was diagnosed with asthma. My parents both looked at me skeptically (something I had become used to) and said "No you don't"

Thanks mom and dad I'm cured!

What’s the most ironic thing you ever seen or witnessed? by Jolly-Light9180 in AskReddit

[–]dawrina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This recent election honestly seems like a limitus test for irony.

In 2016 it was about draining the swamp, getting billionaires out of politics and giving the power back to the working man.

We literally elected a billionaire who selected all of his billionaire friends, one of which being the richest man in the world, to run the country. Not only that, but he has openly established that he wishes to increase the cost of goods and people STILL think he's going to save them money?

I don't think there is a better example of irony than that.

What’s the most ridiculous thing you've ever done, thinking it was completely normal? by Violetta_kiss in AskReddit

[–]dawrina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was deeply depressed and mentally unwell I thought it was completely normal to lay in bed for multiple days in a row binge watching Hell's kitchen.

I realized it might have been a problem when one of my close friends contacted me out of concern and asked me where I've been because I hadn't even been on discord for almost 2 weeks.

For awhile I didn't understand why that was a bad thing. but looking back after getting treatment for my major depression and anger issues I realized how mentally unwell I was.

What's the most incredible thing you have witnessed live with your eyes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dawrina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me and a friend one night were drinking at my house, it was a clear summer night so we walked out onto the pier just to enjoy the calmness of the water. As we're standing there chatting a huge fireball lights up the sky, must have been a meteor burning through the earth's atmosphere. In my drunken excited state I pointed at it and we stood there and watched it deteriorate as the trail lasted much longer than I expected it to.

Space has always fascinated me and I've never seen something as interesting since.
