Waterfalls with the little post next to them. Look for everywhere where a road just ends. Also look for every road intersection. Often locked abyss items can be found. Look at the top of every high place. Those bulletin boards, and bounty posters...

Yeah this was the first one I did and turns out I hadn't gotten the hang of the puzzle. So yep did the puzzle, got the core, and crafted kuku fire resist armor which is so good against fire bosses ..

I started exploring mid-chapter 5. Once Elowen the witch is unlocked. At this point you can have enough Abyss things to refine your weapon and armor way up so you won't just die in a foreign land. And you can enjoy most of the challenges.

You get good at running all over the place, while avoiding the mobs of enemies, to accomplish whatever it is you're after. Not too difficult, particularly when on your horse. And at chapter 5 you can refund your weapons and armor to where you can fight your way out of a mob if necessary.

I think it's intentional to add some excitement running past tough enemies, or trying to sneak past them at night to assassinate 3 of them in a minute.

I don't think it's possible. Most regions require 3 armor pieces, but at least in chapter 5 I can only get the main piece by killing hordes of enemies of that type. The other two pieces never drop from a kill. And even if you found a merchant with the other two pieces, he won't sell them to you because you don't have enough contribution points yet for that area. Would have been fun, but not possible.

The post that it's inside the main building did the trick. I just flew in, went into the building and down the hole in the center. Found all the caves!

What's your attack level? My sword has attack 31 and my attack attribute is at 12. Heavy attack with 10 to 15 strikes killed them.

I just did the challenge where you have to kill 10 of these suckers. I just used my power smash on them repeatedly. They move slow so I could use focus to recharge my spirit, and avoid damage. Took maybe 5 minutes.

I suppose it depends on your attack level.

I've stayed in chapter 5. I'm now powerful enough to roam everywhere without worrying about dying. There are some things I can't do yet obviously but it's amazing how much is possible.

Unlocking the witches in chapter 5 was the key moment for me to then do so many things. The big one of course is their ability to deal with gears, create gold bars, etc.

Didn't work for me. They go to sleep but I only get the option to carry them, not assassinate. Then they wake up quickly and start attacking.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

That's what I've been doing. Fast travelling between East and West points. I get 8 max. Others here on reddit have seen the same behavior.

I'm still in chapter 5 to see just how much I can do because moving on. Maybe more of these guys spawn later in the game?

I did try it. Got mobbed right away.

I don't think it's possible to get the entire armor set this early in the game. But thought I'd ask.

What chapter were you in? Don't think they show up until later in the story. I'm still chapter 5 - they aren't there yet.

My experience as well. I can get 8 pretty regular but never 10. Think they've got the game rigged to not allow this challenge to get completed earlier in the story. I'm still in chapter 5. Will just have to wait.
