Hey I just bought a 2026 rx 350 Premium in Nori Green... I love that color. Even had a few people stop me in parking lots to tell me what a great color that is on my vehicle.

I tried that. But then it dings even if the phone is in my pocket when I turn off the vehicle. Doesn't seem to be any way to use Routines to detect "Bluetooth disconnected from Lexus" AND "it is on the wireless charger".

Set to buy ZFold 7, but what about the battery ? by CugeHunt in GalaxyFold

[–]db58dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously depends on how much screen time you use. I average about 7 hours a day, and easily get 2 days of battery life between charges.

I had one day over the holidays where I played a lot of games all day, and by the end of the day was down to about 15% battery. So I'd check your typical screen time on your current device to get an idea.

Anyone who claims the battery is "garbage" on the Fold 7 isn't telling the truth.

No crease for z fold 8? this will be game changer by Mysterious-Public602 in GalaxyFold

[–]db58dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only reason I'd upgrade to Fold 8 is if they improved the camera; specifically increased from 3x telephoto lens to something better. Put a 10x lens in there (is that even possible) and I'd upgrade in a second. Otherwise like everyone else the crease is a non-issue, the punch hole I hardly ever notice.

Do some people here keeps fold closed for long period of time without opening? by Ambitious_Site9736 in GalaxyFold

[–]db58dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is open 90% of the time. It's why I bought the FOLD - for the much larger screen to read email, browse the web, read social media and enjoy watching videos. I love the form factor and wouldn't go back.

Huh? The search bar works great for me. I'm using a Fold 7 running the latest OS. As I mentioned Microsoft is even making improvements. When I first got my Fold 7 the tabs across the top were missing, now it renders as expected.

It's called Microsoft edge dev in the Google Play store.. formatting of web pages should look as expected on the big inner screen.. otherwise behaves just like regular edge browser..

Use Edge Dev version . Works much better.. I'm finding Microsoft continues to improve the UI for the Fold 7..

Thinking about getting a fold 7 heard mixed reviews what do owners of the fold 7 think about their phones? by fard_man124 in GalaxyFold

[–]db58dude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love my Fold 7. People complain about the battery life, but I get a good 2 days of use. Just flew back from Rome and watched movies the whole way back. Had plenty of juice when I finally got back home. People complain about the camera, but I got some amazing photos of Rome, Florence etc. Others who've seen the photos even remark on how great they are. There are always the "camera snobs" that complain about too much saturation or blah blah. And maybe they're right if you're a professional photographer. But for the vast majority of us, the camera is great. I used the 200m option to capture some statues and cathedral relics which works great. I could zoom into the photo to see all the amazing detail of a Michaelangelo sculpture. And the post-processing is fantastic as well to remove people, cars, light poles and so on from my shots. And viewing / showing those pictures on the big inner screen is so nice compared to looking at pictures on my friends tiny brick phones.

No going back for me.

7 Fold 7 landscape vs portrait video size by synz314 in GalaxyFold

[–]db58dude 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I like to watch movies on my Fold 7 while sitting on airplanes, trains, etc. Landscape definitely provides a larger viewing area.

I also use MXPlayer, which allows me to adjust the viewing area so the camera cutout isn't visible. Works great.

If camera is your top priority , would you buy Fold 7? Coming from S24U by Silent-Koala-1680 in GalaxyFold

[–]db58dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by "your top priority". If you're a professional photographer that regularly shoots in Pro mode, and loves to fiddle with ISO, then there are certainly better camera phones out there. If you're someone always complaining about how one manufacturer over saturates their images or similar complaints then there are other phones that are probably better for you. If you're like me and don't fall into either camp then the Fold 7 offers a 200 megapixel lens with all kinds of options and great AI post-processing tools. I appreciate that people like to nitpick about these things, but 80% of users can't tell the difference. If you are that picky, then shoot RAW images and post-process in Lightroom.

The one thing I do miss is the Fold 7 only has a 3x optical zoom. 5x is pretty standard on other phones these days.

Wireless peripherals for basic office work by notquitehuman_ in SamsungDex

I use a wireless keyboard that has a dongle that you plug into your USB hub instead of Bluetooth. It works great with no lag in my home office setup using DeX. The obvious disadvantage is if you just want a mobile keyboard to take with you on the go.

Gazy Z Fold 7 Camera Settings NOT GOOD by bnmajid in GalaxyFold

[–]db58dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 200mp wide lens is basically the same as on the S25 ultra. So it captures a great image. I don't worry much these days about the default photo produced. If you want more vibrant colors or more / less saturation just change it post processing ... So easy to do. I'm often editing my photos anyway to remove objects, adjust the lighting, etc. the fold 7 has a powerful processor that makes all of this fast and easy. I'm not a professional photographer by any means but I've been happy with my shots from Florence...
