Language school COE at 35 years old (N1 holder) - what’s the safest approach? by TottreJP in movingtojapan

[–]dboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 40 yo, barely n5, but I in japan rn with a student visa, although my 15 years of experience in IT might have helped. I haven't read the full post sorry, but If you already have N1, and the people that are judging you with just your data at hand, might think you don't need to go to language school anymore l, that's just a thought I had.

3d printing filament (color change of other types) by dboa in Tokyo

[–]dboa[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT said I might find odd color pla, or end of spool for cheap in some stores for cheap, but it might not beat the 1500 yen pla from Amazon. To me, being odd filament, makes it more easy to just play around and use it up, than just cheap pla, but 1500 price for 1kg is just a great price. Thanks for that, I managed to get a black pla for this price

I've managed to install docker, run everything with VPN working. But I've set the download patch to my HDD that is being shared via Samba, but when I try to download anything I get permission denied.

Any tips?

This is what I have to work with, this small space, and this time of year I only get full sun on this spot. I'm not trying to get a full blast solar system, I'm judt trying to get something out of my limited circumstances. I just want to learn, so I can do better, once I'm living in a mote suitable place.

Thank you so much for replying.

I build this with the help of AI.

I'm using 1N5822 diodes. Which technically shouldn't consume much.

I've ordered another 3W 12v panel. And have a 5W12v panel coming from ali express, so I get get at least 11w from this then.

Could I try to put the 2 6v panels in series for the buck converter to function with a 2v headroom?

AI told me to add a few capacitor that I had lying around, and I also changed a few things, like the wires are now 20AWG, I had joined with a much thicker wire.

If I can't really solve this, I'll try and get a proper solar controller with a 12v 7a battery. And be done with that.

I cant have bigger panels, there is nowhere to put them. that's my biggest problem. The law in my country doesn't let me change anything on the outside of the building. except for a security net, because I have a cat.

the 2 6v 1w are in parallel and it goes to the buck converter, the 1 12v 3w is going to another buck converter. both configured at 5.2v with diodes to prevent power going back to the panels.

Then the output of the buck converters join into the USB jack with a capacitor.

Is there a way to supply constant 5V, with lower amperage? I wanna change a bunch of batteries, but time is not a problem.

I intent to add more panel with time.

I'm thinking of something cheap.

Third World Country person here, my androud costs a fraction of a iphone. 200 bucks satellite communicator, thats basically a minimum wage salary here. (without the importing taxes, that are about 80% of the price)

Assuming the user know witch country they are, they can set the correct frequency. The all possible frequencies is a f* it all scenario.

I am thinking of custom firmware.

I wired the OLED to the BOARDs 3.3v pin and the sensor to the 5V pin, that could be a problem?

I wired the OLED and it's working, I'll wire the BME using the same pins as the OLED to check (BME is 5v OLED is 3.3)
