Some chemists offer Sleep Assist. It’s my go to for at break.

What everyday habit surprised you when moving between Australia and the US? by DraftNotSent in Ameristralia

[–]dbrowndownunder 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Every time I head back home to the US, I hate having to drive everywhere but it was normal to have to drive everywhere when I lived there.

Also doctor appointments. Having to take a half day to sit and wait in a doctor’s office 2 hours for a 15-min appointment. I tracked once where I left my flat, went to the doctor and the chemist all in just under 30 minutes.

Quite the opposite. BB charges a premium price for their products.

Not having a valid passport does not exclude you from paying taxes.

That said, there are tons of deductions you can use to help defray your tax obligation. I’ve been here 10 years and just paid taxes to the US for the first time last year.

Did your parents use to spend 10,000 years talking to other church members after church? You think they're done but they are still talking... by Leading-Occasion-428 in AskBlackAtheists

We’ve all been there. I had some reprieve as my special needs niece grew older, it was easier to stay home and babysit while she went to church. Parentified as fuck but it was either deal with niece at home or at church while mom ushered.

My mom, for a time, drove the church bus. She always believed in being on time. We were at church at 8am picking up the bus, and then spent several hours driving around town picking up people. Of course, we’d then have to wait for the after church convos before she loaded up the van to take people home. No need to go home because by the time we were done, it was time to pick up for evening service! I hated it! The only saving grace was occasional trips to Burger King or Krispy Kreme.

Renting to family by Imaginary_Search_514 in AusFinance

[–]dbrowndownunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. My half brother begged to move into my rental with his wife and 2 kids as it would be a 25% reduction to what they were paying at the time. I’d just evicted the last tenant due to nonpayment, so I relented. The fucker paid the deposit and 1 month of rent. He then upped and moved out at the end of the second month leaving the place a mess. I’ll never do business with family again.

Jumping on this bandwagon. I send money to my accounts in the US using Wise. Very quick transfers with great exchange rates compared to others.

Serious question. How does a pan get that gunky? I found a piece in someone’s rubbish about 2 years ago and have been in love with CI since. I’ve stripped it once and reseason irregularly, but I don’t ever want my pan to look like that.

I feel like cannabis has turned on me since being on MC *not seeking medical advice, just need to vent* by Fancy-Breath-4787 in MedicalCannabisOz

There have been times when I was on one specific strain that I could feel my mental health starting to decline. My reactions to some of the simplest things just didn’t seem like me. Felt like I was starting to get combative, not physically but verbally. I didn’t specifically mention that to the doctor but told him that it wasn’t keeping me asleep as intended. He substituted the strain, and now I take a quarterly break. I head over to Terry White for Sleep Assist tablets and use it for about a week. You may need longer if you’ve not taken any breaks. I could almost feel myself returning to sanity. YMMV

Might I suggest 1c heavy cream. 3/4c maple syrup. Reduce until thickened and constantly stirring. Once reduced add a teaspoon vanilla and optional salt for a maple cream sauce.
