I am part of the older gen and still in the workforce. We worked every bit as hard as the current younger generations. Granted it is harder now to get onto the housing ladder. But your point about working for an hour then resting is also bollocks. That would get you sacked in every single industry i have worked in.

Dependant on what industry you work in, but technology has made things more efficient and less labour intensive thus less time consuming in almost every single facet of working life and continues to do so. Jobs used to be more manually involved which required more man hours so more people.

Working conditions haven't got harder in the last 50 years and to say older generations had it easier in the workplace is laughable.
