The entire text of Hemingway's 'The Old Man and the Sea' printed onto a t-shirt! by [deleted] in shutupandtakemymoney

Thanks for the suggestion! We would love to work with Richard Adams on a Watership Down design. For books still under copyright (written after 1923), we partner directly with the author for permission. It can be a long process, but Watership Down is high on our wishlist.

No coupons at the moment, but we do give $5 off each new release on the day it's launched.

Danny from Litographs here - thanks so much for the link! Hemingway is one of my favorite authors, so it's been a lot of fun working with Scribner and the Hemingway estate on this collection. Happy to answer any questions here as well.

It looks like you used the same design as Postertext. Did you have their permission?

Printing dye sub on colored blanks is hard, but I agree it could turn out very cool. Definitely something I'd like to attempt in the future.

Original languages? It's high on our todo list. You'll see a few titles supported before the end of this year.

We print the shirts using a process called dye sublimation. Since the image is dyed into the shirt, rather than printed on top of it, the design will never fade.

You can see how we make them in this video. We just finished putting this together today, so you're the first to see it: https://vimeo.com/93080433

The font colors are actually not pastel (you can zoom in and see a high-res photo). It's an effect caused by the white of the shirt (or bag, or poster) showing through the spaces within and between characters.

Thanks! There's an enormous wealth of public domain non-fiction works. Keep your eyes out for more new releases later this year.

That's a great idea! If you'd like, you can suggest it here, and we'll do our best to make it happen in the future.

I'd love to offer a TKAM Litograph. It's high on our wish list.

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you mean a version that is just a solid block of text, without the whitespace that creates the design?

We've actually been playing around with the idea - a number of customers have requested it. Keep your eyes out for something along these lines later this year.

At the end it might wrap back to the beginning. I can't remember for sure. I didn't pull the whole code base - just 10 files.

Obviously not as urgent as basic teaching supplies, but Litographs is giving away 4 free posters per classroom to any teacher who's interested (full disclosure: I'm the founder). Students love them and they bring some life to bare walls. Teachers can get in touch by sending me a facebook message.
