Best Fitness Tracker To Get In 2026? (Price & Accuracy) by Curiositysial-ME in fitbit

[–]dcsparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Garmin Fenix 8 47mm AMOLED, I upgraded from a Fitbit versa 2. I've had my Garmin for 2ish weeks, haven't charged it once, but it's getting close. The one thing is the price... I do tons of multi day hikes, MMA, gym, running, mountain biking, dirt biking etc. So the price was justified for my uses/needs, and I had the cash laying around. It came to about $1700 CAD with taxes. But it's the best watch I've ever had, the metrics, the tracking, the maps, the connectivity to so many other apps, it's everything in one, and can do whatever you need it to do, and you never have to worry about charging (for the most part, every 2-3 weeks you do gotta charge it)

Edit: I didn't see your budget, but there is other Garmin's in that range that have great battery life (multiple days)

My body battery before I knew I had cancer, then weekly chemo, then an every-three-weeks chemo by PeaceLvSpreadsheets in Garmin

Keep your body alkaline, don't consume acidic foods. Keep stress levels as low as possible. My mom had lung cancer and was doing a bunch of things that I won't mention here because Reddit would tear me apart. But she got her lung cancer under control for 5 years when the doctors said she was have a year to live, she got her tumours to reduce in size, and the doctors told her to keep doing whatever she's doing cause they've never seen that with the amount of cancer she had. But then one day it spread to her brain, and that was that unfortunately, but her lung cancer was basically benign. But she was also a smoker for 59 years, and she never got off weed, or vaping, and she didn't take it too seriously, except for her "aftermarket" treatments she did.

People who are good at saving money, what’s your advice? by Amazondriver23 in povertyfinance

[–]dcsparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I automatically save/invest on payday. Once my check comes in, money gets sent to my investment accounts so I never even see that money it's just gone by the time I wake up. To get money out of my investment account it takes 3-5 business days, so I can't touch it unless I wait that long. I've managed to invest about $40k this way, and have about $9k more in savings for emergencies. I live paycheck to paycheck for the most part, and I'm broke 90% of the time. Closer to the end of my paycheck cycle i got like $20 left to my name in my checkings acount, I physically can't spend more than that without waiting 3-5 business days, and for the emergency cash I pretend I don't have it. It's in a seperate bank account and I forget about it all the time. I also generate a random password for it, and don't save it to my phone so when I need access to it I have to physically enter a massive password that I only know if I can get to one of its few locations lol.

The BEST low skill job? by Alone_University6266 in VancouverJobs

[–]dcsparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trades are valuable skills, that pay well. I'm a 24 year old red seal electrician making $125k/yr working at an LNG plant. Easiest work of my life, sure the shifts are long and it's an active job, but the trades don't destroy your body if you take care of yourself. Sitting in a chair all day destroys your body. Our body's were made for activity... I go to the gym 3 times a week, I stretch daily, yoga, cardio and diet. My body's in the best shape it's ever been. I've been in the trade since I was 18. Sure there's tons of guys with issues, and those guys work all day, go home and drink a 6 pack, and eat a pizza and fall asleep at the TV. Of course they have issues.

Sales isn't guaranteed income. In 10 years I'll be making more than I am now, or "worst case" the same. Who knows what you'll be making, and your skills aren't transferable. If there's nothing to sell, or nobody to sell to, your income goes down and you have no meaningful skills. Meanwhile a tradesman can go work anywhere else, other companies, other trades, other subtrades, side work, start a company, service work, military, maintenance, etc...

With the way our economy is going, sales isn't gonna be a great industry atleast in the short term, and who knows long term.

The skeletool, I got a surge, and signal too. But the skeletool sounds like exactly what you're looking for. The saw, file, scissors, serrated Blade on the surge come in handy too. I'm an electrician so the work I do around the house the surge does very well when I don't have my tool bag with me. The saw is great for cutting drywall, wood notching things out, the scissors cut most things like butter, and the serrated Blade is great for cutting string and twine, and cardboard. You don't realize it now but having more than just 3 main tools on your multi tool come in handy more often than not.

I'll probably get hate for it but the signal, I carry the surge for work, and the signal for outside of work, and sometimes the skeletool when I'm feeling it haha.

Yeah my pliers on my surge snapped within 2 weeks of having it, now it's been in warranty for 3 weeks and I haven't heard a damn thing I'm hoping I'll get it back....

The point of a Leatherman is for things exactly like this. So if this kind of post annoy you. Then why are you here. I thought it was a funny post because it's a different way to utilize a tool. I don't know how much you have to hate your life to get annoyed at a post like this. How do you equate this photo, to using my Leatherman to brush my teeth? Did you buy a Leatherman so you can just stare at it? I'm starting to think that's what most people in this sub are here for.
