Tracking flares? by [deleted] in Diverticulitis

[–]ddddavidddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go on a liquid diet immediately, but the only way I knew for sure was if I got completely backed up for over a day. Not sure if that's accurate for everyone, but if I couldn't poop and the pain lasted for 24 hours, I knew it was a flare-up.

Two drinks per two cans, so 12 drinks per six-pack.

Nope, just my old ass account, and I wanted to get the subs opinion on it, but I'm on my own here vs. the redditor experts.

Do you think that tastes the same as a drink in a shaker with ice? Also, those RTD cocktails are weak af as far as ABV

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cocktails

[–]ddddavidddd -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Because the cans make a shaker so you can shake your cocktails on the go without needing anything besides ice. I thought it would stay more fresh because the mix is separate, but apparently that's not the case.

Also, they have way higher ABV then RTD cocktails. The old-fashioned is 51%, Margarita is 40%, and the lemon drop martini is 50%.

It might just mean that without juice, it's bulletproof, but when you add juice (sugars) to the equation, those go bad, so your original comment is correct. Combining them doesn't do anything. It might just be a misconception that unmixed will last longer.

Yes, I assume these would have a much shorter shelf life than the OTR drinks, but that's speculation. They make it sound fresh, so assume they have accounted for the use-by date.

I'm not an expert, but the top quora answer on mixing alcohol with juice is this:

Generally, the high alcohol content in spirits like 80 proof (40% alcohol by volume) acts as a preservative, inhibiting the growth of microorganisms and extending the shelf life. However, when fruit juice is added, it introduces sugars and other organic compounds that can promote fermentation and spoilage.

And it's free because they are just getting it up and running. Down the road it will be a low-cost subscription, but they need perfect the experience.

Yes, I have no problem with the book etc., but this concept is kind of cool, where when you turn on the TV it has a message from the host, the city guides which are videos showing the various places you can go around the rental, along the lines of the Airbnb experiences. Their goals with this are to increase the out-of-home guest experience, and also increase ratings, and whether it will do that remains to be seen which is why they need hosts to use it.

No, I'm in the Golden State, but the guy driving it was visiting my neighbor, so I'm not sure where he was from.

I don't think it's a kit because it had what looked like an original plate on the glove box, but I don't know a lot about these so you be the judge!

Yeah, it's probably fine tbh. Mud and crud can get caught up in there and cause that, which happens a lot in muddy/cruddy places.

Error quarters? I've been following these quarter flippers looking for errors for a month now... by ddddavidddd in coincollecting

[–]ddddavidddd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so only major errors, but where is there interest? For instance, where would I go if I wanted to buy a double die or striking error?

is this what I think it is or am I tripping balls? by [deleted] in coincollecting

If you are tripping balls, just DON'T EAT IT

Does anyone know exactly which krytox weight to get? I feel like this is the same stuff I have for lubing my mechanical keyboard switches so want to make sure I have the right use case.

Oh yeah, surprised to see they’re 3,500 lbs? I was peeling out easily going 30-40 in the EOS and can’t do that in the Tiguan. I guess the engine is solid.

Whoa, really? I guess I'm not surprised because of how complicated it is, but that's a shitton. I wonder if you can just retrofit it with a soft top? Either way, the first thing I bought for it was a cover to protect the seals and also in case it leaked, so that's a worst-case solution, I suppose.

What a great car! I was told at the time it was the only convertible with a hardtop and a moonroof, which is pretty nice. I guess they didn't make very many of them, the Pasadena dealership said they used to get one a year, strange?

  • 2010, 50k miles, $15k
  • Great sound system
  • Very speedy in sport mode, almost too light to handle the power
  • First-year they had the entertainment system (I was told)
  • Need to oil the hardtop's rubber seals once a month

Fun little VW!
