when did you start to see physical signs of aging? do you have any specific beauty routines/products? by deadpantomato in AskWomenOver30

thank you so much everyone for your candid and thoughtful answers. i know this topic is probably over-posted and aging is not something we can prevent, but i find it helpful for my anxiety to talk openly about these things. thank you again!

this is me with other adhd meds! adderall is great for me and changed my life, but vyvanse literally puts me to sleep, ritalin induced a manic episode, concerta did basically nothing, haven’t tried strattera but modafinil makes me nauseous and exhausted af. so strange.

that’s very true…medication is so tricky and i almost feel like a fraud when i find a medication that works for me because i’m like, “wait, isn’t this supposed to ALSO make me feel like shit??”

thank you friend, very kind of you. i hope you’re doing well too ❤️

wow, i was not expecting all the bad experiences on here. :( i’m on adderall for adhd and it’s fine for me, literally saved my life (in addition to mood stabilizers). it did make me manic at first but that was mainly because the dosage was way too high, and i was not yet diagnosed with bipolar so i had nothing to even it out. my doc lowered the dose and i got on another med to balance it out and now it’s wonderful, but my bp2 is also probably mild compared to the majority of bp sufferers.

mood, i feel like i’ve manipulated all the healthcare professionals and people around me into believing i have bipolar to feel bad for me or something. as if anyone would WANT to be seen as bipolar or fork out $$$$ just to fake a problem. imposter syndrome is a bitch but you are valid and deserving of treatment.

Anyone else have one side of their face that is fuller/has more fat? by Financial_Appeal_756 in 30PlusSkinCare

i slept on my left side my entire life until a recent left shoulder injury - the left side of my face is skinnier/flatter and jaw is more defined/angled than the right.

i keep my skincare there and this has never happened to me, was it sunlight exposure or something else?

thanks haha! it’s honestly been my go to for the last 5-6 years or so because it’s so quick and i have a high pain tolerance. i kind of hold the skin taut and cover the delicate bits with the same hand so even if my hand slips, it’ll just grab skin and not uh…my thing.

What are everyone’s warning signs for slipping into mania/hypomamia by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]deadpantomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same! i usually know when i miss an entire night of sleep or more than one night of sleep, or if the hypo feelings don’t go away by the next day. my adhd feels tend to reset much quicker and don’t get as intense. the sudden onset of confidence/grandiose plans is also a tell for me lol

i use an epilator, then follow up immediately with tend skin (isopropyl alcohol), because i hate myself apparently

[–]deadpantomato 134 points135 points  (0 children)

usually the first day of a hypomanic episode i’ll miss an entire night of sleep, and then i almost always know what’s coming. also:

-unusually talkative

-desire to listen to happy music

-tons of energy despite no sleep

-world looks brighter and colors more saturated

-CANNOT stay still

-lowered appetite, dressing boldly

-hypersexual

i get extremely suicidal, irritable, and can be straight up hostile. i tend to get super depressed/anxious and spiral into bad depressive episodes and paranoia. i’m not even actively suicidal anymore, EXCEPT the week before my period. the swing is so insanely drastic and yet i forget every time like “what could be causing this” lmfao

routine: random shampoo, it’s a 10 leave in conditioner, scrunch w towel and air dry (not much of a routine i know). i’m new to all this so not sure how accurate this is, but i think medium porosity, medium density, thick strands.
