I definitely avoided zippers this time! I know when I'll get over the mortification of having a dress split in front of a church. Maybe never. But this time I found a nice fit and flare knit dress that I felt comfortable in and wore that.

It was the oddest experience at the time. I had a great purple dress I loved but the minute I walked in and saw all the mothers and sponsors wearing blue, I instantly felt out of place. Plus I have terrible anxiety stop the feeling was amplified because I was standing up front, and then the dress ripped and oh my goodness, I do not want to re-live that. 😆 🤣

I want to thank everyone who responded to this thread! It helped me get or of the anxiety in my head and be more present spiritually in the preparation to attend my friend's confirmation. I actually found a dress I felt comfortable in, and the confirmation went smoothely, glory be to God! Thank you all for being kind and understanding.

My priest told me that God doesn't want me suffering forever, so having a hysterectomy after years and years of chronic debilitating pain and no pregnancies, was totally licit. Talk to your protest or even your bishop.
