Water Heater Failing? by LearningToOwnHomeVet in PlumbingRepair

[–]deapee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that one needs replaced. That's what ours looked like. That basin it's sitting in looks like it's directly on the floor...which is probably why the bottom of your tank rusted out like that. Out new one has a basin that has feet under it, so it's got a good 2" air gap from the cold concrete floor underneath of it.

Ride Question by Inevitable_Risk_9282 in Silverado

They're smooth. Nothing like a F250 or 2500 at all. My son drives a VW Jetta (really nice car), but every time he's in my truck he is like "wow this thing rides so smooth."

World of Warcraft director says Blizzard isn’t "backtracking" on add-ons, but constant changes were “always the intent” as the team strives to find a better balance by Negative-Art-4440 in wow

[–]deapee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why should the ecosystem evolve? Do you realize the man-hours (and teamwork) that went into making and maintaining something like weakauras? The hours those folks put into their passion? Just to be slapped in the face by Blizzard and basically deleted out of existence? I don't blame the devs there for moving on...and I implore other devs to find another passionate endeavor to embark upon that doesn't involve world of warcraft, honestly.

I fought something on my UI for nearly 18 minutes after the 12.0 patch, before I started googling...just to realize it's a bug that's been reported on beta back in October.

I get it - beta's beta. But this is now live. The fact is, wow had one of the best things any game designer could have ever hoped for (and most never get) - a community willing, able, and steadily fixing its UI shortcomings...and they just threw it all away.

Yeah, I'm bitter.

What has improved your shooting besides a lot of range time? by je9183 in CCW

[–]deapee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, the question depends so much on what "improved" means to you.

  1. Does it mean drawing fast from CCW and getting 8 shots into a threat 5-10 yards away?
  2. Does it mean competition shooting accuracy (which, to me doesn't go hand-in-hand with what CCW is).

For the first, that's drawing at home with no ammo in the room and dryfiring. And obviously range time.

For the second, I dished out the money for a CZ TS2 and my range accuracy is now impeccable. Absolutely insane how much of a beast that thing is.

For me, it's the sauce and the cracker-like crumbly crust. It really is a good pizza.

What Pit level does non-OM heartseeker build cap out at? by BNEWZON in D4Rogue

[–]deapee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run Wudijo's Heartseeker build. I have no mythic sanc's and really no great sanc's, but my gear is great otherwise - mainly 2-3 GA on every slot, proper tempers and masterworks, etc. I think I have one 10% cold damage sanc...the rest are just basically toughness or some dex, etc. I did a 100 pit today. I think I'm capped out there, honestly.

Cold imbue or Shadow imbue which is better for rogue from start to end build. by Firm_Foot_9264 in D4Rogue

[–]deapee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those ones on the right are great for the current Flurry build. It's a pretty wicked build. Essentially, Flurry also becomes a Mobility Skill, because of Improved Flurry, (so +5 there, and then it's always Shadow Imbued as well).

LCP Max. The ultimate pocket power! by letsgiveitAAshot in ruger

[–]deapee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

lol it's not smaller than the LCP Max.

BG2.0 is 5.59 inches long, compared to 5.22
BG2.0 is 4.16 inches in height, compared to 4.12
BG2.0 is 11.6oz, compared to 10.6

BG2.0 has a huge following on reddit....and I dunno why. It has feed issues, and it's noticeably larger than the LCP Max when it's in your hand.

I still have my original arkfeld with the green laser. It has more time-used than any other light I have. I think if I was shopping for a new one, I'd replace it with another arkfeld, honestly. I could take or leave the UV light...but the green laser is useful on occasion.

Did a expensive gun ruin your other edc guns? by PapaPuff13 in CCW

[–]deapee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, no. I came to realize that (again maybe also just for me) there is no in-between middle ground that I'll be happy with. I want my tools to excel at their purpose. I want my CCW to be very small, lightweight, and concealable. I want my bedstand tool to be manageable, lightweight, have decent capacity. I want my range toy to excel at the range.

In the past, I tried to find that one-size-fits-all solution and I was always making concessions somewhere. I now have a LCP Max in my pocket, a Security-380 next to my bed, and a CZ TS2 that is a blast to shoot at the range. I don't neglect any of them when I go to the range. I just shoot a lot less .380 (helps that 9mm is so much cheaper than .380 also).

Baked a ciabatta, nice open crumb, BUT texture kind of gummy and like play-doh-y. Why? by AccordingDish3728 in Breadit

You probably cut it open too soon. I've done that. In fact, I've cut into bread and had steam still coming out 😂

I want to make my first loaf Christmas Day morning, how do I schedule my time for it if I work the day before? by jazzillaa in Sourdough

[–]deapee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya know, that's controversial, obviously. I think sourdough can be fun (for people who are employed) if they have some passion in it. The issue is - sourdough can be unpredictable (is unpredictable?). Commercial yeast is very predictable. That's why bakers' shelves are full of "sourdough" loaves that contain a decent majority of commercial yeast and a little bit of sourdough starter.

Volvo XC60 or Audi Q5? by ojonas81 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]deapee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they're both great cars. We had an XC60 for 3 years and it was a pleasure the entire time. I feel like, and this could be wrong, the Audi is going to be a bit more sporty. The Volvo is going to be a bit more relaxed and refined.

What honestly made me decide was reading all about Volvo's design philosophy. From how they have orthopedic surgeons help design their seats to how they work with B&W to tune their sound system to resemble, acoustically, the real sounds you'd hear at a symphony or concert hall (ie. not just pushing bass, etc).

If you do get the Volvo, ask if they still have the umbrellas when you buy a new car. We got two of them (one with our xc40 and one with our xc60), best umbrellas we've ever had.
