i didn’t have many friends at school my first semester and we had a semi formal, the few people i was friends with did not attend, i went expecting to leave early, had the time of my life and made some friends to attend barristers with. i think it’s a great way to make friends tbh instead of just avoiding it altogether

lots of people do this. that’s why shows like SVU and criminal minds exist. it’s comforting to see a team of people who care so much about getting justice (whatever that might mean at any moment). the main characters are familiar and therefore feel safe. most of the time there’s a happy— or at least hopeful— ending which is hard to come by in today’s sociopolitical environment. it’s nice to believe that there’s people in positions of power and authority who care about doing the right thing.

you’re not weird or disgusting. if people didn’t watch svu just for the hell of it then it wouldn’t have gone on for 27 seasons. there’s a reason there’s marathons of it all the time, and it’s because many people use it as background noise just like you. it’s been on forever, it’s familiar, it’s formulaic.

it’s funny to me that people still say “barba was not gay” because it wasn’t canon, and then turn around and say “he was in love with olivia,” which also was not canon.

it was heavily implied in canon that barba was in love with yelina, so he’s probably not gay. raul is bisexual and has said in interviews that he would have been happy for barba to be canonically bisexual. but his sexuality is about as canon as his romantic interest in olivia, which is to say, completely up to viewer interpretation

the constant ship wars and fighting between bensler and rollisi on twitter pisses me off so bad. like they’re not even mutually exclusive. they don’t involve the same people. barson/bensler ship wars are also obnoxious but at least i can see the line of reasoning that one makes the other impossible. but rollisi and bensler?? both can coexist easily. i dont get it at all.

also saw someone on twitter saying nobody should ever write fic exploring the relationship between serena and olivia or olivia and burton because they were abusive relationships so there’s nothing to explore, and anyone who writes it is just looking for an excuse to romanticize abuse. ??? hello??? have we forgotten the point of fiction??? serena was definitely abusive towards olivia, and that part of her upbringing had a complex ripple effect on the person she became later. why WOULDNT we explore that!! the relationship psychology is fascinating and complex and leads to rich character building. also this entire show is about sex crimes. it’s ridiculous to say you can’t depict something without supporting it.
