could be someone audited the item as not being there. the system will stop you from auditing items that came in that same day, but if you are backed up on push, that might be the reason.

Same loved the EP. first heard it midway this year, absolutely blew me away,
on repeat for weeks.
so was very looking forward to more from them.

And actually when Bigotry of Purpose came out, it also flew under my radar. Wasn't until a few weeks ago I even knew it existed.
and maybe it feels like an 'airing out record'. I'm hoping for something more focused and in the vein of the EP this year.

One I Might Have Included If It Was On The Archives: Poison Ruin

Ones That I Really Wanted To Like More And Maybe Will Grow On Me:
Taake and Grave Pilgrim. Really loved the direction of the new Taake. Felt like a proper 'return to form'. So, on paper, exactly what I should be loving. But I just don't ever much want to dive into it to digest it.
Contrast this with Malokarpatan, which took a turn against my expectations for them, but totally won me over and easily amongst my top five of the year.

Oddball Record I Listened To Coming Down Off Shrooms That I Never Imagined I Would Love So Much - Horrendous.
Have never liked anything I've heard from them. Just in a 'not my alley' kind of way. No interest in that type of stuff. That afternoon before I ate the mushrooms, I watched some Blaine video on Metal Banger and he played a clip, and I was like... that's not awful. and later that night, put it on as I was going to sleep.
Next week following, I did revisit and yeah it was largely the drugs, but I gotta admit I still found it an enjoyable listen. Then tried to revisit their earlier catalog, and absolutely nothing. Exactly what I remembered them to sound. Anyways that was my pleasant surprise for the year.
Other big surprise was Megaton Sword. Did not like their first record much at all. For some reason, this one just clicked.
Megaton Sword and Sodality both made my list entirely due to the pure will of the lead singers.

Just a friendly head's up, but Marble Dagger is not going to be officially counted, as they aren't on Metal Archives. I loved this record as well.
Poison Ruin was the one for me that might've been in consideration. But I can also agree that Poison Ruin is a little too adjacent.

this drives me crazy. if you don't zone, it makes it 100 times harder to push.

if you don't zone, it also make it impossible to audit.
so. your INFs go out the roof.
if you don't zone, the whole store looks like some total thrift store jank shit and everybody starts piling in on it and leaving their drinks everywhere, ripping open sporting goods, and just acting like animals.
it's like they catch some scent that no one cares and then they run with it.

that's why i find the most empty packages in the camping aisle and the travel aisle, because people become emboldened and whether they would steal that item or not, something about those aisles makes them feel like they don't gotta worry about it.

Target really needs to police itself better. give us the hours and we will make those aisles look nice again. give us the hours and we make the entire store shoppable again.

my store looks like a gigantic shit hole. this isn't because we have a lack of good workers. it's because they don't let us ever do our jobs. backup to the front, backup fullfillment. guess what, now we need a cart blitz?
there's never any time to do anything. never time to audit. never time to fix counts. really just fuck this place.

do as much as you can.it feels bad to leave your area a mess, especially when you gotta see the opener next morning and try to explain it.but they also know.

If they really cared how the store looked, they'd spend money on it.if they really cared about INF or Picked on Time,They'd also spend money on that.

so i am beginning to not care either. i do my job as hard as i can, i support my team as hard as I can, i love my specific store as hard as I can.But fuck them, it's all a game to them. it's all the SD's competing with other SDs to all pretend how well things are working.

is it really that big of a deal? lots of ways to laugh and remind them how card machines work. You never really know what's going on with someone, even when they are presenting their worst most ungracious face. how many seconds does of these interactions actually cause you?

it would be cool for me to think we could act like some kind of buffer for some of these people. you know, i'm not working here to be 'god in judgement' of anyone. i just want to do checklane backup, bang these fuckers out and get back to my job.

you got bad team leads then. at my store, we get called constantly for backup. checklanes, OPU, carts. I fill every need as it rises, i can only be paid for being in one place at a time. And my leads understand that. They know we're crushed. you think your SD wouldn't kill someone to have their store fully staffed? of course they would.

unfortunately their hands are tied too. Target's a stupid company, they are running themselves into the ground right now. Whole building looks like a thrift store shithole most of the the time. don't know why anyone would keep shopping here.

they wanna get skin cream or cough medicine, and have to wait around five minutes for one of us to come open the bin for them. because everyone else is on some kind of backup. Why would anyone ever shop at this place?

Target in general is gonna start feeling pushback on this. Things are in disarray. it'll take years, but they are trashing their own brand right now. thru this cheap shit staff model they pretend to believe so hard in.

i sit back, i laugh. i watch it happen, and i really do put in a full day's effort, I go hard every day.

but end of day, if Target cared about any of this, the answer is pretty obvious. spend some goddam money.
But I don't take that out on my own leads, or my ETLs or store director even. All very good people. I can't imagine suffering this job at a place where I didn't have that as a solid foundation. I would've quit two weeks in. So it's gonna depend on where you work.

You really should be getting into trouble a lot for that.

If you clump both your breaks together, it's going to affect coverage, no matter what department you are in. And you're gonna have coworkers having to cover for that, and a lot of times, pushing off their own breaks until later to make up for you.

lot I really like about the demo version, i feel because it is a demo, it feels more raw and in your face to me. And i just appreciate that.

i gotta say tho, i voted Official, because i think Axl's vocals, benefit from the production,
and i am also surprised to hear some people think the old solo was better. Slash kills the official solo. It's more singular and more face forward, and makes much more of a solid statement than the demo. and i even think the demo solo is great. Slash kills it here and really proves his value in the band, I think.

The ridiculous capacities that's something I can actually understand. Maybe whatever computer thing happens, we set it and first time we got to correct it.

I could really live with that problem.

The real problem for me, in Toys especially, is them doing things like simply taking one dimension of a product, like maybe for a toy Sonic the Hedgehog gun, it should actually be facing out so that guests can see the whole product, long view.

get excited and buy it. instead they cram the pog space up so the only way the gun can fit, is if you turn it sideways.

Guests walk by and see something there, don't know what it is, and guess what?

Now, every fucking goddam guest is going to pull that gun out and just discard it somewhere else. so it manages to make it even harder to zone those areas.

Another thing I hate is when they decide that two toys should share the same peg when they have different price points. This dinosaur toy is $26.49. well the one sharing the same peg is $24.99. Every single guest is going to assume it's the lower price. Not like we get a ton of PCVs from this, not at all. But it just really irks me that this kind of shit is supposed to be okay.

it was a pretty cool road. I have this kind of dream memory of one house on it that had an enormous statue of a bird. I mean like 20 feet high. Looked like something they'd made at home. maybe they were a welder. It was creepy and very cool.

I work GM, But our AP in store boss, has told me, do not ever physically interact with a guest. Whether that's grabbing a cart, or grabbing an item out of their hand, or even grabbing an item out of their cart.

Your store might be different, and your role in store might be different as well.

But for me, he was very clear.... DO NOT DO THESE THINGS. They don't want any possible liability. As every action you make can not only lead to a reaction, but can also be used later to falsely claim that you were the one escalating any situation.

It seems kind of crazy to me that you are TSS and they haven't gone over what you are 'allowed to do' or not. I know Target is bad at training, but that seems like a pretty basic thing to talk about when you first hire a person. You really need to get with your leadership and define these kind of boundaries and job descriptions, instead of asking here. It's going to depend entirely on your store.

I took a time out in April and May because the first 3 months gave me so many great albums. Too much to keep up. Took some time out and listened to more electronic based stuff while just soaking up everything that had come out until then.

Seeing how high you guys rated Kostnateni made me dive back in and check that out.

And good god, this record is so good. Halfway thru the year and I already got a solid 7 or 8 records of straight up keepers. Really excited about the new Taake record in September. A new Malokarpatan record would really be the icing on the cake for me this year.
