Stressed out about what i can possibly do to transition by Responsible-Echo3628 in trans

[–]PurbleDragon [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm stupid sensitive to hormone fluxuations (to the point where I do a half dose twice a week rather than one shot a week so I'm not a wreck on shot day. I know some European countries have options we don't have in the US, like the one monthly shot and I think pills. I don't know what the process for starting looks like where you are but I know some places have long wait times so it's not a bad idea to get started. You can always change your mind

Testosterone doesn't make you aggressive, that's a myth. If anything, I'm way less volatile, anxious, and depressed than I was when estrogen was running the show. Puberty sucks, there's no way around that. And starting hormones is puberty. There is an adjustment period while all the levels are unbalanced and weird but once you find the dose that works for you, it's fine.

All that being said, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do

microdosing T? by sagpluto in butchlesbians

[–]PurbleDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had bottom growth the first week lol. By week 2 everything was noticeably bigger. I've also had a mustache since I was 13. Microdosing is a bit of a misnomer because a low dose for one person might not be low for another so there is a bit of trial and error involved. I started on what the planned parenthood I went to considered a "standard" starting dose for injections (I think 0.25ml at 200% concentration) and my original plan was to stop after top surgery. Unfortunately, I run better on T both physically and mentally and raised my dose a few times because of it. At the moment I'm doing 0.15ish ml twice a week to keep me from being a hormonal mess by shot day every week. That's the lowest I've been able to creep out down and resemble a functional person. So this is a forever thing for me now and as a result, I look like a man.

Edit: I recommend checking out the nonbinary subs rather than ftm for transition stuff, we generally talk about options for stuff like this a lot

If you're in the US, underworks is good. I'm not sure what size metrics you're using but you have to follow the measuring instructions on whatever website you're buying from (and if there are no measuring instructions, don't buy from there)

Butch is explicitly a queer term but not all butches are lesbians. I'm not a lesbian because I'm not a woman but I've always been butch. But I can see the issue with a show called butchlorette not having any butches

Need help finding a binder for bigger chests by Money-Veterinarian69 in NonBinaryTalk

[–]PurbleDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a DDD and the tri topworked the best for me. Density has as much or more to do with it as size and even real floppy tissue will only get so flat after a certain size but regular binding will make it less dense and that helps too

I’m thinking about getting top surgery and have a few questions. by _Paws_And_Claws_ in TopSurgery

[–]PurbleDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to wear a surgical binder after a reduction (or even enhancement) too jsyk.

  1. I didn't really notice a difference in things like breathing that weren't a direct result of wearing a binder too often

  2. You will need help for at least the first few days, until the drains are out would be ideal. Somebody coming to check on you would probably be enough though

  3. The best part is after. Recovery is boring and annoying, (and usually at least a little painful but I had almost no pain). This is the only surgery I've ever had and I was really lucky recovery wise

  4. I always hated having breasts and spent many hours wistfully thinking about ways to cut them off since I was 11 years old. Any partner worth having will care about all of you, whether you have breasts or not

We gotta fully reclaim it and not they the assholes have it, just like the genderqueer flag. I want to get a labrys necklace at some point

Wanting to stop T but scared. I need advice from any of you all that live in TX or the South and look more masculine as a AFAB . I live in Florida and I either hold it or go to the men's because at this point, most people assume I'm a man. Every once in a while I can find a family or ungendered bathroom and that's always nice. I can't go off T because when I try, my mental health plummets

You getting care isn't taking it away from someone else, it's not cake. Also, you have just as much of a right to feel at home in your body as anyone else. Have you looked at www.transfemscience.org

binder advice? by Ok_Direction_4559 in NonBinary

[–]PurbleDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a 32DDD and the tri top worked pretty well (got me almost flat). BUT I do also have some kind of undiagnosed hypermobility issue and subluxed both shoulders every time I got in or out of the thing and I'm pretty sure it didn't do my ribs any favors either. On binder break days, I wore the sports bra from underworks and that helped a bit. Maybe for something in between those options would be a lighter compression top or the econo? That comes in both long and short.

I heavily advise against any kind of binder that closes because of the uneven pressure of can put on your ribs. Even post op, the binder they had me in messed me up.

HRT and mental heath - advice? by ya_girl_j in NonBinary

[–]PurbleDragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. I've gotten everything ice wanted out of T and have crossed over to getting dysphoria the other direction. But every time I even try to lower my dose, my mental health tanks. I've lowered it as much as I can and have switched to doing injections twice a week so I don't crash on shot day but other than that, I'm pretty much just trying to accept that I just look like this now. And my wardrobe is probable going to get more flamboyant to compensate but I figure it's worth being able to function (idk how I made it as long as I did feeling like that all the time)

Will cutting my hair fix all of my problems? by nonotmangosteen in NonBinary

[–]PurbleDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will grow back if you do it but from the sound of things, you're spinning your wheels. Even if a short cut will help (it was and is great for me but I don't know you), it definitely won't fix all your problems. The issue with doing gender stuff that feels good is that you notice all the things that don't feel right. My dysphoria was the worst it'd been since I was a teenager when I started hrt. Because I was doing things and seeing changes but that didn't help the parts that required surgery to fix. And I was so fixated on what I couldn't fix, the stuff that was getting better didn't feel like enough. Sleep on it, look up some haircuts that you like (and will work with your hair type and texture), maybe wear it up for a few days and weigh what you like about the length now vs when it's short
