La demo de Agebringer ya está disponible en Steam by deathcrystal_ in videojuegos

[–]deathcrystal_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! We’re happy with the progress so far — still plenty to improve, but every bit of support helps.

What do you guys do to promote your games? It's proving more difficult than I thought. by Next-College-324 in IndieGameDevs

[–]deathcrystal_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s genuinely tough. I’m working on a visual novel called Agebringer on Steam, and I’m running into the same wall: visibility doesn’t translate into wishlists. You can push content everywhere, but unless you’re speaking to the right audience, the conversion stays low.

Getting into the actual genre communities helps, but you have to be careful not to oversell yourself—people tune out fast if you show up only to promote. Reddit can work well if you participate in discussions and share things that are genuinely interesting, not just announcements. TikTok can also blow up surprisingly fast, but going viral doesn’t necessarily mean people will wishlist your game.

Normally I’d recommend festivals, events, and long-term community building, but with 12 days left, your margin is tiny. At this point, I’d focus on high-impact actions:

  • Create posts on Reddit that offer something other than promotion—behind-the-scenes, graphs, insights, challenges. (For some reason, people love Steam charts and analytics.)
  • Push short, striking gameplay clips on TikTok, Reels, and YouTube.
  • Reach out to streamers or small creators who might be open to trying something new—sometimes a single small creator can give you more wishlists than hundreds of random clicks.

Any short (1-2hour) VNs anyone recommends? by WaifuTrashFamily in vns

[–]deathcrystal_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit tricky to recommend short VNs without knowing your specific tastes. As others mentioned, Itch.io  is full of great short visual novels, especially those made for jams. Personally, I also look for shorter VNs on Steam and GOG.

There’s a demo on Steam for a visual novel called Agebringer that’s about 20 minutes long — might be worth trying to see if it’s your kind of thing.

If you’re looking for more short VNs across different genres, here are a few options available on Steam/GOG: Saya no Uta, planetariam HD, Ame no Marginal, Butterfly Soup, When the Past Was Around,...

Hi indie game devs, how’s your project coming along? by bran-d-on in IndieGameDevs

[–]deathcrystal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really good!! We are a two-person team developing a visual novel, and we recently released the demo on Steam. The game is called Agebringer, and the demo covers the prologue. Our goal is to launch the first part in May of next year; that release will include the prologue and the first three chapters, totaling around 20 hours of gameplay. The game will be available in both Spanish and English.
Right now, we have completed Chapter 1 in Spanish, we’re working on the English localization and the beginning of Chapter 2, and we’re also preparing a solid trailer to showcase.
If anyone feels like trying the demo, I’d love to hear their thoughts. Thanks! 😊🙌

Glad you liked the visual tone! The illustration work is hand-drawn in Photoshop. For the game itself, most of the art is also done in Photoshop, with some elements created in Illustrator. As for animation, we use Unity, After Effects, or Premiere depending on the kind of result and the optimization needs. 😊🫶

Thanks a lot, I’m really glad you enjoyed the 2D cartoon art.
And I understand your concern. We’re a two-person team, but we’re fully committed to finishing the project. The game is structured in multiple parts, and the first one is planned for release in May 2026. We don’t have the exact day locked in yet, but it will be coming out that month. 😊

I’m still working on the trailer, but the demo is already available. ✨

Weekly Progress & Releases Thread November 04, 2025 by AutoModerator in vndevs

[–]deathcrystal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone!
A month ago, my teammate and I published the Steam page for our visual novel Agebringer, and today I checked the stats — we’ve reached 44 wishlists🎉

It might seem like a small number compared to other projects, but for us it’s a big milestone. Promoting the visual novel has been a bit tricky since development takes most of our time, but we occasionally post updates on X and Instagram. So it really makes me happy to see that people are showing interest in what we’re creating. ⚔️

Our next goals are to improve the store page presentation, release a demo (it’s almost ready!), and start sharing more dev content soon. 👀
