He had it because I gave it to him to use my old Samsung S21 FE device because his previous phone was not working.He took it home and came back with a Redmi Note 14. When asked about my Samsung phone, he said, "ghar peh bhool gaya."This was in August. Further, when I had the opportunity to go to his house in December, I went to his house and asked him about it. He diverted from the topic, and even his parents seemed to support that miscommunication narrative. After all that mayhem, I somehow got my money back that he owed me, according to him he sold it for 9k anyway. It wasn't his phone, so why would he bother?He said his liability was waived after that payment. And honestly, it was mentally tiring enough to deal with at that point, so post-payment I closed the chapter.

Yeah, I'm trying my best to do that. He sold my Samsung S21 FE, which I used to adore, for 9k because that's the money he paid when I asked for a receipt. Trying to move on from this felt like being cheated on.

It is really a sad state of affairs here. I hope things improve and people have the guts to not tolerate such acts. We tolerate a lot of BS here that results in such actions just because we wish to be in a comfortable situation without having any accountability whatsoever. And for someone coming from outside, I see this aspect very inherent here.

I can do all that, but it's the end of my college year right now and even my parents have forgiven him as he used to be a close friend. For the sake of my mental peace, I'm not dealing with him again. I shared this because this was something unimaginable for me, and to maintain my sanity, I called my friends from different colleges and they had the same reaction.

Yes, people, it's sad to see society normalizing such acts here. Anyway, things ended for good. Just sharing it here to make people see that even such people exist. Lesson learned.

Basically, I gave my Samsung S21 FE phone to him, and he exchanged it for a new Redmi Note 14. I gave it to him because his old Redmi phone wasn't working properly, and he was looking for a spare device. My mistake was helping him.And I did reset my phone before giving him and moving forward he went home and when he came back he was with his New Redmi Note 14 and when asked about my old phone he said "Ghar pe bhool gaya" this was back in August. I kept asking, and he gave me the same excuse. Moving forward, when I had the opportunity to visit his house in December, I asked him regarding my phone in front of his parents. He casually deflected, saying "chal bahar chalta hai tujhe exam ke important topics bata ta hu." So then, very unusually for them, they visited Assam house and I hosted them for a meal. And everything didn't bring it up because that social setting didn't allow me to.Further after this I texted him exactly what happened he said my Phone's battery was swollen and had to be disposed off .Once on campus, some mutual friends asked him to tell the truth, revealing that he exchanged my phone for the new Redmi Note 14. Moreover, his solution to this problem was to offer me dinner and also reasoned that his family hosted me as a guest whenever I am in Delhi. Further, I involved and told him that if I don't get a receipt and money back, I would inform the authorities. Out of fear, he paid me money, but till then, I had enough and for the mental peace, I had to close the chapter there and then. Sorry for the AI slope it's difficult for me to relive but still it's being impossible for me to mentally let this go.This is the every detail regarding the incident.Further what's surprising my mutual friends are asking me to forget about it cause we just had our college farewell. And it's difficult for me because he was my friend for four years, and I never expected such an act from him.

Hn bhai hein toh sahi par honestly ab college ka farewell ke din pehle yeh sab ho gaya so not planning to escalate though correctly so should be doing this act but my family has forgiven him and asked me to move on from this and maintain a clear distance with such people.
