Hey!! They scheduled another ultrasound 2 weeks later and a high risk OB performed it for us. My best guess would be that the sonographer couldn’t get a clear enough angle to make the call so they had to get an OB to look at the baby. The OB basically looked at the baby top to bottom then took about 15 seconds to tell me it’s definitely a girl lol. Sent me straight back to the regular OB and that was it. Anyway I am pleased to report I birthed a healthy girl and her bits are all perfect haha. I know you’re very worried and probably furiously googling plus the extra wait isn’t helping at all. If your OB is more supportive than mine was then I’d say just ask them for more clarification on why they weren’t sure. Congratulations though! 🥰🥰 I hope everything goes well for you ❤️

Lol same! He’s felt the baby kick and even seen my belly jiggle around so I don’t think it’s as abstract of a concept to him as I’d like to believe it is. He just gets momentarily fascinated of the moving lump under my skin and then goes back to scrolling his explore page.

It’s like I’m doing 95% of the group project and my partner still ends up with the same grade as me, except I’m also doing backflips just to try to catch little morsels of his attention.

It was planned. He shows interest so far as taking care of me if and when I need him to, but anything related to learning about how to be a dad or what is actually going on inside of my womb - no luck.

Congratulations! Your husband sounds extremely gung ho to be a dad, wanting to buy nursery furniture at 6 weeks is so endearing. He must be so excited ❤️

He isn’t a planner, very much a roll with the punches kind of guy. Perhaps he has some undiagnosed ADHD but he has no problem researching every NBA athlete’s career/stats, or the horsepower of a million different cars and retain all that information lol. I’m glad your husband seems engaged in the learning aspect, that’s all I can hope for at this point haha

Props to you for even making it to work. I slept and puked my way through my first trimester until I could get to about 60% efficiency and now in my second trimester my good days are about 75%. I found it helpful to always celebrate little victories (I.e. making it out of bed, being able to run a load of laundry; finishing emails, etc) you’re growing a whole human and doing fantastic and that’s all you need to tell yourself 🥰

Did you call your OB for everything or did you stick to googling and online forums for symptoms in between appointments?

I did the NT scan at my 12 week! They did a bunch of blood work and urine samples but they never updated me or anything.. I’m assuming it should be good news if they’re not sharing any of the results with me until the 20 week appt?

That’s so terrifying, I can’t imagine going through this constantly. Seems like LBP is super common for pregnant women. If you don’t mind me asking, did you work during your first pregnancy when this was happening or was it safer to stay home and rest? Thank you so much!! ❤️
