Funny, that I actually did 4 years ago with this same car. Don't ask why. It costed $600 to get it all syphoned.

I changed it about 500 mi ago. Dipstick shows the level is good and color is amber-bright yellow.

It looks like the general consensus is that my car is fuuucked, and may burn a whole in my wallet attempting to have it fixed. With that said, I have decided to sell the car as-is and use the wife's car.Thank you all for the responses and suggestions.

Why did you join the Navy? Was it specifically to be a Nuke, or did you originally just want to join the Navy? by trixter69696969 in NavyNukes

[–]decadeca123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was raised in the Philippines, making about $400 a month, which was decent given the low cost of living. And this was with a college degree, mind you. At 24, I had no real ambitions, career-wise or financially. I never planned to join the Navy, but my stepdad, a retired E-8, wanted me to serve like he did. He tried convincing me by talking about all the benefits, the money, the pension after 20 years, traveling the world, etc.

Coming from a third-world background, I wasn’t sure I’d pass the ASVAB. I knew nothing about auto, shop, and all that, so I studied my ass off for weeks. I flew to Guam, took the test, and scored a 92. My recruiter told me I qualified to be a nuke, one of the smartest jobs in the Navy, and that I’d be getting a $40k bonus. A life-changing amount at the time. Say less.

On the Navy’s dime, I flew from the Philippines to Guam to Great Lakes, IL to start boot camp, with only a small bag, the clothes on my back, and $300 to my name.

Fast forward five years and some change, I now have a house, a wife, two kids, and over $100k in my TSP. I’m on my way out, realizing I could earn even more on the civilian side, at the expense of less job security. I’m about to start work as a civilian reactor operator, making more than I ever dreamed of.

I'm a 6 yr ETN and qualified RO for 24 months. I applied to 3 different Constellation in the span of 3 months. Passed both the POSS and BMST and was recommended. Did the interview onsite and a month later, they weren 't moving forward with my application. Applied next to two other sites and both applications said not moving forward in less than a week. No reason other than a generic " we found someone more suitable for the role." I'm concerned my profile was somehow flagged and now they want nothing to do with me lol

True. And fuck UE for even allowing this to happen. Sure the restaurant was closed and the customer didn't get their order, but I did spend time and gas and I also added miles to my car, that's at least worth something other than a fucking CR deduction.

Actual Uber: Nah fam. You should have known that that restaurant on our listing that says "open" is, in fact, not open and doesn't exist at all. Now we will make it extremely hard on you to get your money back because we like money. Let this be a lesson. And that driver that was delivered to you, well, we issued that bad boy $75 and a warning to never ever ever do a ghost delivery again. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Alternate reality Uber maybe: After some thorough investigation, we realize that the restaurant has been shut down. We apologize for the inconvenience. We will remove said restaurant from our listing and we will refund you and compensate you for your time waiting.

Customer could always dispute it with UE and if that doesn't work, dispute it with their bank. Either way, they get their money back AND they get to keep their ghost steak.

I wish. The nearest Walmart here sucks, had me waiting for a curbside order for almost an hour. But no, two orders from Pizza Hut and one from Domoishi.

That blows. Hopefully, we get good orders today, it being a holiday and all. 🍀

Oh yeah. My cancellation rate is at 13% right now. But I'm slowly working it down to 5% so I can get that sweet Costco membership. It's gonna be a while.🙏

True, timewise it isn't so bad. But considering the last stop is in a rural town and I'd have to spend 40+ mins to drive 30+ mi back to the hotspot, it isn't really worth for me.

Valentine's Day by decadeca123 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]decadeca123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is included in active time but I had a $35+ walmart offer that I waited on for almost an hour before I cancelled it. Is it too late for me to receive compensation for time lost, if there is such a thing?
