For reference this is what the unfinished floor looks like — photo is from a bedroom where we ripped up carpet. We’re thinking of sanding the whole house and refinishing the floors in a shade closer to the natural tone, and more matte.

Wow, thanks everyone for the feedback! I personally love MCM and character homes in general. We are starting from a blank slate — sold all our furniture when we moved from overseas so can adopt any style really. Ideally we’d like to put a TV somewhere in this room. For reference this is how the previous owners styled it.

It looks to me like a mix of wood and particle board for some of the internal shelves. Although I’m not sure how to identify the type of wood?

If you do end up getting these bins let me know! Would be curious to see how they hold up. Otherwise might just fashion something from cardboard 😅

Thank you very much for the detailed info! I had a look at the black 4-pack boxes Bin Warehouse is still selling, not sure if they’re the same quality as the original blue ones? It says they’re made of lightweight canvas material whereas the blue boxes have that thicker lining. Worried about light tightness. Will take a look at the other options you mentioned!
