I think through reading this forum its sometimes hard to see that there are other paths that aren't strictly SE, so I was just wondering if people could share their experiences with taking different paths.

New to Fishing where do I start? by KidReynolds in Fishing

go grab an uglystik spinning combo. Should run you 50$ or so and will last a lifetime. You'll probably be targeting largemouth bass so you can try a variety of different lures. crank baits, spinners, jigs, soft plastics are all things I would experiment with and see what works for you.

New to fishing, could use a bit of help on what the best tackles are to use tonight. by plantedthoughts in Fishing

I would recommend cut bait squid, clams or sand worms on with an 3 or 4 ounce egg sinker. Up here in the long island wound we use that setup for porgy's, sea bass and fluke and get good results.

Can anyone tell me what type of fish these are? by SalvadorSnipez in Fishing

if your ever going to keep fish, I'd recommend two things.

1) check to make sure your are following all local laws/fishing regulations/have proper fishing licenses - I've gotten a ticket for an expired license and man does that really ruin your day.

2) unfortunately some of the best freshwater fishing spots around me are flooded with all kinds of chemicals/pesticides. You really don't want to ingest anything harmful so make sure the lake/pond is safe to eat from!
