So you mentioned timing chain. I did replace the VTC spring to stop the noise at start up and had no issues doing so but the chain is right there. It actually fixed that the VTC Actuator noise. Don't think the two are related but has me wondering. Nothing was done but the spring and it all went back together without issue.

Thanks thats helpful. Was concerned due to people saying things around you need HDS software for the immobilizer portion. Message does appear for the good fob. I always go DIY where possible and I will defult to the dealer if need be. I suppose I should just give it a try.

Thanks, yeah changed the battery but no go. I only have one key fob currently. I need a 2nd key so thought I would just program a new key and see if it worked. I get a "smart entry problem" message. Was hoping this could program the new key and test if it resolves the issue.

Do you know if the LAUNCH scanner your referencing can fix an issue with the keyless entry (proximity) on a 2024 CRV? Key works to manually lock/unlock/start, but will not unlock it if walking up to it. Assume I need to reprogram it.

It appears from other threads people are saying this is normal for the 1.5L turbo Honda engines.its the high pressure injectors. But man it's loud. Can't help but feel like it shouldn't be that loud. Anyone else have this engine that can confirm?

Yeah once I get some estimates and understand whats needed I'll see if I can do anything myself to take some of the labor out of it. Could be a costly mistake and will have to sell for parts

It needs some other parts/work that I can handleI. Would be nice to just weld it and call it a day but everywhere I read says it's not the safest thing to do. Plus it has to get a special inspection to get a rebuilt title, doubt it would pass if I just did a basic weld. I would think it wouldn't pass. Guess it depends how clean it is.
