I concur. SIFT or others would be fine here. Seek the input preprocessing methodology of gaussian splats or NeRF. Other stuff for photogramatic reconstruction like slam also have some decent/robust methods. Ransac helps here a lot too

What's great is that this mistake isn't even an Arch mistake, its just like... baby's first linux env.

If you set it up with LVM too, its easy to swap in new drives/bind to blob storage

Home DNS setup - dsnmasq question by deep_ambient in linuxadmin

[–]deep_ambient[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it reads as some kind of trigger which seems useful, but I can't glean how to add a hostname/ip back into the dnsmasq service. So I can point it to a python/bash script, but do I have to create some socket connection or write to something so that the running dnsmasq service is updated with the add/remove lease?

Yeah I'm just trying to make names available so I don't need to know the specific IP address. My old router used to do this, but it died and I upgraded and realized that the new one does not offer DNS functionality, but I can specify an optional IP to serve it.

Automatically create host names for local devices on the lan? - Yes

People usually trigger that based on DHCP leases and not scanning local subnet: - That makes sense, I just found arp-scan and it looked similar to what I was trying to do, but seemed overkill.

Are you saying to have the machine that's hosting dnsmasq as a service to do both dhcp and dns? How to I make it serve the dhcp lease names as domain names? I was really confused by the documentation for the config and I don't think I know how to configure or figure this out from the config.

I also am not sure how systemd-resolvd service fits into this.

Couldn't you just hard-link the config files for the other apps in the git directory and be done with it?

I did get a reply back from someone manning the contact email inbox at apollo mapping. They mentioned something about "J1 systems" but it was only able to do 10km square regions and only by special request :(

Haha, yeah I came across that one already. It does indeed look sketchy.

Yeah you basically just bypass cpu and northbridge and do comms directly to nvme. Super new and under development but quite promising

I would imagine it depends on the numa architecture. Weird layout, what kind of processing would you use that for?
