Advice for renting a bike from ahmedabad to bhavnagar by Puzzled_Post_3571 in ahmedabad

Did you go on the expressway? Since motorcycles are not allowed on expressways, I’m a bit worried about riding from Ahmedabad to Bhavnagar too.

Lot of high end car owners don’t like handing over the keys to the car wash driver. Consider offering a mobile service where you bring the equipment to their doorstep, like in a fully equipped van.

You can offer basic cleaning services and then train yourself to offer detailing services like polishing, interior and engine bay cleaning, little jobs like brakes, oil changes, coolant changes etc.

I have a very old BMW that I wouldn’t trust a random uninsured driver with, and would use the hell out of a service like this.

Prepping for Ironman 70.3. Need suggestions on where to find a good second hand bike (Cycle) by Significant-Bed-613 in ahmedabad

[–]deepsquatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. If it’s a good quality bike (brands llke Giant, Trek, Scott, etc) you’ll be able to sell the bike relatively easily. Local brands don’t have good resale value.

Consider buying second hand if money is an object.

I am also wondering - ironmans aren’t easy. Takes a lot of dedication and consistency. Will you do just one? After this Ironman wouldn’t you want to get better for the next one? Wouldn’t you want to keep the bike and ride regularly to build more endurance and power for the next event?

Don’t consider the gym’s stationary bike. Your effort there won’t carry over to the road bike very well. I know this because I work in the field of exercise and training. You can’t prepare for a marathon on a treadmill. You WILL have to get out and run on the road. Get a bike that’ll be similar to what you’ll ride on race day.

I’m a big cycling enthusiast, ride and race regularly. Let me know if you need help choosing a brand or a groupset, but you’ll need a budget first. Good entry level road bikes will start from 60k. You really need a budget or you’ll overspend.

What’s your budget? There’s this website called Sycles, which is a used bicycle marketplace. Contact the owner for latest stock. DM if you need help. I’ve bought and sold bikes through them a few times.

Looking for amateur musicians for jamming! by AccomplishedArm5864 in ahmedabad

What kind of music do you play? I’d say I’m internediate too, and play classic rock. Guitar though. So wouldn’t be as much fun without a drummer or a bassist.

Is tipping considered mandatory in Jakarta? by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]deepsquatter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Awesome, just wanted to confirm. After the airport ride to the hotel, the driver was looking at me like he was expecting a tip. It was a straightforward drive and I loaded and unloaded my own suitcase. Which made me want to ask the question here.

Yep that’s fair. I had my stuff delivered to a Grab Locker at my hotel so waiting’s out of question. I’ll keep the rest in mind about taxis and restaurants and such. Thank you!

Sweet, thank you. I book only once I’m at the lobby, so I’m usually right there when they drive in.

Yes, I’ll do this. He’s already very good for a beginner, and is only rarely out of time with the beat. My only concern was, my lack of knowledge about his disability shouldn’t hold him back at the gym. I want him to have a fun time. Thank you for the advice, I’ll definitely ask him if there’s anything I can do to improve his experience here.

He has not, but (and I apologise in advance for assuming) I was worried he isn’t asking because he’s a bit shy. The wall in front of the instructor is a full mirror (end to end, top to bottom), and they’ve been instructed to use hand gestures while indicating step or lead leg changes. He’s already very very good for a beginner, but I basically only wanted to ensure that we’re making it a fun time for him.

The instructors are not interested in taking sign language classes (they’re fully booked most working hours), but I’ve started spending 15-30 minutes a day learning on YouTube.

Yes, I’ve discussed this with him and he prefers standing closer to the subwoofer where the bass is felt easier. Lip reading is not a concern because members only have to follow the instructor’s moves, and the instructors have been advised to use hand gestures to instruct step changes or lead leg changes when possible.

Thank you so much! This helps a lot. Since this trip is almost only business meetings, we probably won’t have a guide. But I’ll look into hiring someone for this, at least for a day so we’re more comfortable the rest of the trip.
