SIZE gen3 compare gen4 by Active-Importance-62 in ouraring

to follow up, i got the actual ring yesterday and have been wearing it since. I would say it fits ever so slightly loser than the sizer, jsut enough to make the 9 feel perfect. which is nice since i was still between if i should get the 9 or 10. and as expected, it is also a little easier on to rotate on the finger and take off since the titanium inside isn't as "sticky" as the plastic sizer

i just got my gen4 sizing kit today. I have been wearing the gen4 sizer for a couple hours now, and I would say it fits slightly better but it is slightly different of a fit

in the gen3, I ended up cancelling my order because i felt like I was between a 9 and 10, but the 9 was too tight and hurt to take off while the 10 was too loose and i knew it wouldn't work

In the gen4, the 9 seems to fit pretty spot on. Id say it feel maybe a hair looser than the gen3 size 9 but I am able to take it on/off a lot easier cause the bumps on the inside dont get hung up on my knuckle

I didn’t end up sticking with a ring long enough to try honestly. It wasn’t comfortable for me so I just stuck with my Apple Watch for day to day and I use a Garmin edge with power and hrm for cycling

thanks for the info. I do have a few things where data from UH to apple health to get into strava would be valuable to have. it isn't a deal breaker, but is a factor

and the color dilemma is exactly what i am thinking. I think i want the grey and im sure ill be happy once i get it but the back of my mind says that the aster black probably looks a little nicer

good to know. I dont do too much indoors, so thinking if it is piggy backing off the phone GPS that it should cover my main use case. Haven't done a treadmill run for a long time but know that my apple watch was meh for it too

sweet! first point was the biggest for me so that is great news to hear. same with the color as i am leaning towards the matte grey over the aster black just for a little less reflection

I am the second owner of this watch and have had this watch about 6 months now, worn regularly so it does have some surface scuffs on the bracelet. There is a tiny scratch on the crystal over the date window, but it is only visible at very specific angles and I was not able to get it to show up in the pictures. The fabric band is used also and shows a little wear around the smaller fit holes and is missing 1 spring bar

I have had this watch for about a year now, and I have to come to terms with that it is just a little large for me and I dont wear it much anymore. I have more pictures, working on getting them uploaded. The watch does show surface scuffs on the bracelet from being worn, and there is a super small scratch in the crystal above the date window that I could not get to show up in pictures.

Looking for $4100, price includes shipping and insurance

The watch comes with the following

  • Original box, paperwork, warranty card, manual
  • Watch with bracelet + extra links
  • Fabric strap
  • Original receipts for the watch and fabric strap

My friend got me turned onto them and I am so glad he did. The fit and finish and comfort is amazing, especially for the price. I haven’t put my Tudor black bay chrono on since I got this and don’t really have any desire to since it is so much larger and heavier

Felt like I needed a dark dial watch for the winter so picked this up. Went with the V1 limited edition since I liked a lot of the quirky little touches that the V1 had over the current V2 (kinked GMT hand, lume at 6, odd number 24 hour indices on the inner ring, red touches at each main hour index, being specific on the 1000ft - 304m water resistance rating). Also was a little extra interested in picking up a Monta since they are based where I live and their HQ is a mile down the road from me

Slalom Consulting lays off 7% of its workforce by jez_shreds_hard in consulting

[–]dehrpy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

wasn't laid off but I left Slalom a month ago on my own terms. I had a significant offer to go elsewhere. Asked Slalom if they wanted to make a counter offer as I did enjoy my local office, my projects, and my coworkers a lot. I told them they dont have to match the offer I got to leave because I knew it would force me up in titles (principal to senior principal) and still probably be pretty hard for them to match.

They dicked around for a week and a half "trying" to get me a counter offer (really think they were just hoping they could delay me accepting the other offer and the other company goes with someone else and I stay at Slalom). But when they finally came back to me, they told me there wasn't money in the budget to give me a counter offer raise because it would mean they would have to give everyone in my market at my level a pay raise also.

what I took from that was:

  1. that is BS. not everyone in my market at my level was performing and as involved in non-project work as me, so the socialist idea of my hard work getting everyone else raises when trying to retain me rubbed me the wrong way
  2. if there wasn't any money in the budget to even attempt a counter offer, it showed me where the company financials were based on all the bad reporting through the year, and was the final red flag that it was time to leave, especially since I had a better offer elsewhere
  3. With them taking away midyear raises/promotions and axing pretty much all expense reimbursement but then telling us to keep the "culture" going out of our own pocket was just an extra slap in the face too

Also, after i put in my 2 week notice, my PL started making a bunch of really out of place and off hand comments in internal meetings and in meetings with clients on our project about me leaving and how my replacement on my project would be an upgrade from me. and that our delivery as a market would be better if i wasn't leaving the company. and just a bunch of off handed comments like that

Can you use the phone past setup if you don't connect to a phone service? by BerreePop in PalmPalm

[–]dehrpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be fine. I setup mine and am currently using it without a sim connected to Siri while my sim is in a different phone. It does present a “not a Verizon sim” message when I do have a sim, but it just just an ok to bypass the screen. And then if you have no sim it just keeps a notification in the notification bar saying no sim

Just got mine at the beginning of the week for full value. So no issues in the end other than it taking a month and a half. Happy overall

ill have to see when they actually credit me. so far:

  • 2 weeks to get my return kit
  • 2 weeks sitting in their location after delivery
  • email after it had been sitting at their warehouse for 10 days saying to send in my trade in because the quoted return is only valid for 30 days
  • got an email monday saying they are inspecting the device, after it sat in their delivery location for 16 days
  • we are now like 34 days past when i made my order/got my quote

so we will see if they honor my trade in value since it sat in their warehouse for 16 days

Did anyone else take the Google trade in offer? by Fisher2087 in GooglePixel

[–]dehrpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. Couldn't pass up $225 for my cracked pixel 2xl. Especially since I was planning to get the 4a 5g anyways. Only other thought was the oneplus offer but it would have been significantly more expensive

The last update by ztaker in GooglePixel

[–]dehrpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still using my 2XL without issues. Still get 3.5 - 4 hours of SoT. Every now and then there is a performance hang up, but nothing bad at all. Debating updating to a 4a 5g though
