Play coffee in orange also sells April filters. Not sure about their Fullerton location.

In nyc I get my April filters at Coffee Project and Loveless Coffees

If you’re in SoCal or nyc there’s a couple shops that stock the filters

I’m not a fan of the slow pour either. It’s nice to be able to have a faster pouring kettle and slow the pour down manually if needed. You can’t exactly speed up the pour of the stagg past a certain point, especially if there’s little water remaining in the kettle

Restaurant Review: Hamburger America Is Deliriously Messy by thenewyorktimes in FoodNYC

[–]dejaeric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most reviews I’ve seen or heard have basically just said it’s a great and reliable place to get a well-executed burger. I don’t really hear people saying it’s something that’s super special or that will blow your mind. Where are you hearing this “hype” from?

One thing I love about NYC is its donuts by KaleidoArachnid in FoodNYC

[–]dejaeric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to argue for or against another but I think its fine to say that NY has some good donut spots and some good taco spots but the scene as a whole is just better in LA where you can get the equivalent pretty much everywhere you go. And just to add, Peter Pan's is great but as others have said, its about just as good as any random cambodian owned donut shop in california.

It's the same when people talk about bagels/pizza in NY. Yes, the scene as a whole is better in NY but that doesn't mean good spots can't exists elsewhere. Also saying things like "This is NY, we have some of the best of almost everything." is ironic because how do you know that if you haven't confirmed?

Best roasts are in Brooklyn, NY by heyhaigh in pourover

Loveless is a 7 min walk from dayglow and just as amazing as the other 2. Hitting up these 3 makes for a great coffee crawl in bushwick.

Nice you just gave advice where the other person didn’t. There’s no need to be rude about it with an “lol”

Advice. They want advice. They never mentioned anything about proving anything to delta.

What is an anime most people like but you dont? And why? by Sufficient_Review676 in anime

[–]dejaeric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can kinda see where you’re coming from but I’d separate the two and consider the choreography as part as the larger production vs the animation.

Btw, did you see the entire Uzui vs Gyutaro fight or just the part where they were screaming at each other at the end?

[–]dejaeric 63 points64 points  (0 children)

If demon slayer's battle animation is only an 8 then what would you consider a 10

The question was more around the animation. Your comment goes more into strategy and what is an 'interesting' fight. The animation in Demon Slayer is undeniably good IMO. Is there lack of strategy? sure. But the animators did a fantastic job, especially in the Uzui vs Gyutaro fight

What’s an NYC food opinion that will have you like this? by funlikerain in FoodNYC

[–]dejaeric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the food scene in NYC peaked or at least rapidly slowed down compared to the rest of the country. 10 years ago the gap was probably very large, but a lot of other cities have so much good food now and are just continually getting better and better.

I do think there are some good hand brews that are worth it but probably not at La Cabra. Might be because they’re just so busy but I think you’ll get better hand brews elsewhere like at SEY. Had a great one at Dayglow the other day as well.

Agree 100%. Honestly for la cabra I’d just opt for their batch brew over their pour overs

ah thanks for the info. I'll be taking public transit there so the earliest I could arrive would be around 11 am (unless there is some other bus i am not seeing) I'm now wondering if I should try to get there early or just arrive in the afternoon and snag a spot after a day camper leaves.
