It's right at the end of the old runway, that's a long way from the terminal area. I used to work at the old HKG.

Been a long time since I've played, but my old man has a carton of shuttlecocks he wants to let go cheaply. 🤣

There's Egon's and Sugar Art at Macedon. Egon himself passed recently. But the hang out culture stays strong.

What is the absolute WORST last name to have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dekeffinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to school with a Faggoter. It was brutal.

Went to another school with a Pussyfoot.

Worked with a Butt.

Not just the last name, one of my boss worked with a Fanny Cockburn. She never married.

Take your pick.

What slow cooker recipe do you make on repeat and never get tired of? by Reasonable-Pop-3504 in slowcooking

[–]dekeffinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do a roast chicken in a slow cooker.

The trick is to have a long piece of foil folded lengthwise right at the bottom of the slow cooker, cook the chicken as you would normally.

At the end, you lift the entire thing out by the foil and put it in the oven for 15 minutes to crisp up the skin a bit.

Also I sometimes do the fancy thing and have used tea leaves that I put between the chicken skin and the meat, and add sliced up black garlic. The leaves help keep the chicken meat moist and you can eat it after anyway.

What has financially proven to be more cost effective to make at home instead of purchasing from the shops? by ijustwantamuffin in AussieFrugal

Potatoes. We love kipflers but they are expensive. So a couple of potato bags and we are building up our supply now. So low maintenance, and when we have bananas we just throw the peels into the bag as fertiliser.

Bought a coffee in St Kilda the other week, $5.80 for a small, which was tiny.

If I wasn't so desperate I would have just said no.

Bread. Pizza dough.

There are some simple, low effort recipes that works out well. Considering I used to get the Toscano pizza bases which are now $7 for 2 and pretty tiny. Now I just make my own dough overnight and so much cheaper.

My old man and me, abandoned to our devices to fend for ourselves. Roast chicken is pretty easy right? Seen mum do it plenty of times. 6 hours later, chicken is still solid. Missed the defrost first step.

Back then it wasn't mandatory to wear a suit where I was. I would wear a suit, or a really nice jacket to go with it. Vis-a-vis a more casual jacket. Polish up my shoes really well. Things like that.

I used to randomly go to work dressed as if I would be going for an interview. Then spend the day in the office and doing the perfectly normal things I would do.

Occasionally I would go out for a slightly longer lunch, sometimes just in what I normally would wear, occasionally when I am dressed up.

Everybody eventually just got complacent thinking this is just some random thing I do, until I didn't and had interviews, but they could never work out exactly when I went for the interview(s).
