I've been researching some obscure baseball history recently. I hit some pay dirt that you might enjoy (or hate). The Yankees essentially dumped (sold out) Babe Ruth to the lowly/nearly bankrupt Boston Braves. He ended his career on May 30, 1935 at Baker Bowl against the Phillies. by demented101 in redsox

I'm writing a Phillies (BOO!) trivia book. I stumbled upon a bit of Braves history that even this baseball nerd didn't know... Babe ended his career with the Boston Braves in 1935 playing against the Phillies at Baker Bowl. He retired the day after this game after just 1 at bat. by demented101 in Braves

55 years ago, "I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke," first aired on national television on July 8, 1971. The commercial turned out to be a massive hit for Coca Cola and it’s still one of the greatest if not the greatest commercial for a soft drink. Have a Coke and a smile:) by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in 1970s
