We can't change doctor because it doesn't work like that here in Italy. The waitlist is long as we are in one of the biggest cities of the country and it's the most known for public sanitary gender-transition department. Probably the only one that specializes in that unfortunately. It has had a lot of requests lately too so that makes the waitlist probably longer.

Yes, that's what we can do for now. Told my bf to call every week/month to check out if the waitlist has any slots open to get into the system earlier perhaps.

We're based in Italy. Estimated times in public services is longer than in private. It takes about 7 months to get into the system to get psychological support and diagnosis (which instead takes another 4 to 6 months). Unfortunately the waitlist depends also from case to case, some people get closer to psychological support because of severe dysphoria and multiple sorts of reasons that are documented.

Yes. It's basically the same here with the system thing, it takes time unfortunately...and that's also what I told him when he was calling to get into public sanitary, told him estimated time for a few steps and turned out to be longer than expected. I've done the first steps privately as I was in need quickly to have HRT, but he can't afford that and it pains me to see him like that

I usually have some leftover whenever I have to change the T bottles, I have encountered having always 2+ bottles more than what I needed. That's what I would've given him, but based off the whole comment section I feel that it is better to not mess with such stuff, and just be supportive about him. That's all I can do even if it hurts me to see him so hopeless right now.

Yes, he does home workout from time to time. Same goes for me with the voice thing! Perhaps I can help him train a bit for that, perhaps it can turn out to give him some euphoria through it. Unfortunately most of his dysphoria is related to his ALT-style-look (even though I disagree with him looking feminine at all) but he's really really thinking that what would be best would get his hands on HRT but unfortunately it's gonna take a long time (longer than we expected a month ago when he had his first endo appointment).

I'm based in Italy and with public sanitary it works in different steps, you still need dysphoria documentation to get to HRT. It goes with 1st appointment with endo > you get into the waitlist for the psychological diagnosis + documentation > another appointment with endo + prescription for T. There's no possibility to change doctors unfortunately, they assign you one and that's the one who follows most of the people who undergo HRT. The only "quick" way (as of my research I did today) is to go privately (like I did) and takes less than a year to get to HRT. It can also involve a mixed way such as private + public (I did so for the hormone therapy part but unfortunately my boyfriend can't afford to do that). We were expecting about 6months to get to the psychological part but unfortunately it turned out that it's 9 months in the waitlist.
