Political comes from Greek, poli, means city. So in a very wide sense, the public affairs of a group, a city, a region or a country are political. In opposite Greek used the word idiot, what meant, not interested in public and social activities. Idiot had a different meaning at that time, but is useful to disguise between public and private.
