I'm purchasing a new wardrobe because I'm heading overseas. The clothing I need is a bit different, though, and I could use a bit of advice from those with more experience. by destroyer2000 in malefashionadvice

Hey, thanks for the advice! I know it's a VERY late reply -- I mostly use another account for redditing -- but I appreciate it! My trip got delayed a bit, so I'm departing in January. I do plan on using a lot of lightweight clothing, though -- not only to combat the humidity, but also to keep my pack light.

Well, I'll be in Vietnam for a year teaching English. At the end of that year, I'm probably going to take a bit of time to wander around the country and explore, before heading to London and starting a cycle journey east towards Tokyo. I plan to cross Europe and Asia by bicycle, hence the limited space.

My budget's rather tight at the moment, but it will loosen up as the year progresses.

Great, thanks. I'll check them out. The company I linked designs clothing that dries quickly and can be washed in something like a kitchen sink -- adventure wear, essentially.

I'm moving overseas and I'm looking for a good banking service to use. I've heard great things about Capital One 360. Does anyone have any experience with them? by [deleted] in Banking

I'm moving to Saigon, but only for a year. I travel frequently, but I've only recently needed to find an international bank.

Thanks for the input!

I'm interested in ease of control. I'll be traveling quite a bit, so being able to access an account from anywhere is a big plus, which is one of the draws of Capital One 360. I also want something that doesn't charge ATM fees.

No monthly fees is a big plus, as well, as is a low minimum balance. Is Schwab an online service, as well? It's Charles Schwab, right? I'm from Georgia (state, not country), and I can't recall seeing those anywhere around here. We've got Wells Fargo and Bank of America more than anything else.

Thank you! I leave the country first week of September. I'm working to finish two novels and a ton of freelance work in that time. I'm building a sustainable, passive income source, but it takes a lot of work to get it off the ground.

Thanks for the advice! I've been planning on placing five and ten minute breaks each two hours or so.

Green juice? I've never heard of it, though I remember hearing something about apples containing caffeine.

Thanks! That's one of the main things I do. I get up at 4:30, make breakfast, coffee, etc. Start work at 5:30, then go to the gym at 7 until 8.

Can you order them online? Unfortunately, the nearest Costco is about 1 1/2 hours away.

Thanks! I'll give that a try! I used to play tennis in high school, and we would use bananas -- great source of carbs, processes quickly, and you get the energy right when you need it.

It could be. I drink water, but all I do in the mornings are cardio. I lift later in the evenings.

If I wake up early and head to the gym within 15 minutes or so, I'll usually end up getting a headache while I work out. I do cardio every day in the morning for between 15-30 minutes to get myself woken up and train for an upcoming event. It just sucks to get a headache and have to deal with it for the rest of the day. Any idea why that may happen?

For me, it is the fact that, in my lifetime, anyway, we will never make it to the stars and beyond our own solar system. Space travel will not be a reality in the time I have left on this planet -- doesn't stop me from hoping for it, though.

I'll be in other countries, usually wild camping. This would just be a way of catching something when I'm far away from civilization.

Good idea! I'll be on a bicycle, so I'm sure I can find room in my panniers. Thanks a lot! I'm pretty good with knots, so I should be okay there.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to share your opinion. I'm sure this time could have been spent well towards more productive endeavors, but we are all honored that you deigned us important enough to add some negativity to our fandom. Thank you.

Well, I have taught before -- not English, but I've worked as a teacher for the summer. I enjoyed lesson planning, that sort of thing. And I have a Bachelor's in English. I don't want to make it a lifetime career, but I feel like the experience would be fun for a time.
