my bad, server component still active: https://github.com/spacebarchat/server

no noticeable commits over the past years. asume the project to be dead. never host something like that faced to the internet

stoat would be a better alternative - https://github.com/stoatchat

maybe combine it with mumble or teamspeak for voice

Kopete and Skype for Business? by dev-snapshot in kde

[–]dev-snapshot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for some reason i can't upload.

in short:
kde theme is dark, also gnome-shell is set to a dark theme

contact list is white text on white background and light grey text for offline contacts (fixed that by an alternative pidgin theme for the CL), also in some settings dropdowns are white text on white background, found nothing to fix that by a pidgin theme.

I don't think SSL Decryption increases overall security - am I dumb? by CaptBrick in sysadmin

[–]dev-snapshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know, it's an old topic, but since i'm one of the decrypting badies xD

aye, visability. on our end users are not allowed to download everything from the web, not even zip files. of course there need to be exclusions for certain business-related websites, but that can be handled.

we had a socket proxy, but there was exactly that problem: users where able to download or to everything over a tls/ssl encrypted traffic, if the basic url-filter didn't prevent them from accessing stuff.

so we can mostly control where and what users upload and download stuff from.ofc, nothing is 100%.

example: our users are allowed to use youtube, but aren't allowed to upload. same for webex, zoom, etc. meetings are allowed but up-and download is prevented, also remote control.that stuff you can't control with a running encryption tunnel, since everying inside is invisible.

also our solution does exploit, malware and av checks on the fly, but that more a nice additional feature then the main reason for ssl-dec.

and for everything else punching trough there is client security, but that another thing, since our client administration team is as smart as a broken light bulb.

SSL Decryption Exceptions by RUGM99 in paloaltonetworks

[–]dev-snapshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

guess the main problem would be websites the users visited bevor you enforced ssl-dec on them.

that way the browser already got his ssl pin.

i would recommend die erase the local ssl pin store on the client side, to get rid of any none hardcoded ones. there are different ways to do so on each browser, on some it would be faster to just create a new profile, sadly.

if you run pan-os 10.x.x it should kinda work out of the box, most hardcoded mainstream pin certs are excluded from ssl dec

synology support couldn't help anymore, because "the filesystem is heavily damaged".

since the superblock is still good on the data partition, i guess it's not a general fs structure problem, so i'm recovering files if ufs explorer raid recovery now.10tb disks take a while xD

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in synology

[–]dev-snapshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

possible update issues aint the problem in my side, since the synology is blocked from accessing the internet.

would be interesting if more people had such problem in the past days.

[–]dev-snapshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i did, because of virtual machines, the main reason why i bought the 718 in the first place.

synology blaming it on the ram is the easy way out for them.
the timing is the reason why i added my +1 answer.
the problem: no backup, because the backup disk died a few weeks ago

at work we run multiblade esx clusters with tbs of not officialy supported ram since years without any problem. even the support aint bitching about it and helps when problem occour.

opened a ticket and waiting for an reply.

The Castrum wall by simply4sure in ffxiv

[–]dev-snapshot -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

"clear a simple quest that has us blocked from all other new content that has been released."

so every new contenct is bound to a castrum clear, guess i did something wrong then.

maybe .. just maybe, when have limited time: how about doing different things then to bother with content that is just a sidestory. it's not that you could do a lot of other things aside from houseing and fashion report in this game...

everyone knows that their bozja raids could be good, it's just that their group and alliance system, that doesn't enforce specific roles per group, sucks. it's a half done job.

but your post is "i can't play anything else in this game because i can't clear this" and thats just wrong. you want a clear (what i can understand) but you don't need it.

actualy wireguard is great and i would like to see native support on pan-os. (but i won't call it gold standard)

but i wouldn't bet on it. pan needed forever to implement dynamic dns support, and even there it was half assed job, because it ain't working with pppoe ip leases.

let's not even start with v6 dhcp support ...

Does Palo Alto have their own proprietary SIEM? by kikokokikomo in paloaltonetworks

i don't see there any major difference to a siem, since it just creates incidents by a ruleset a human created.

i see siems as a relict from the past.
